Hi there! My name is Sherri, and I'm 16 years old.

I'm having an issue with weight loss - I am a huge YO-YO DIETER. (-scary music plays-)

Anyway, I am currently at 156 pounds -- I feel utterly terrible about myself and my lack of control with my apparent inability to lose weight. I go up and down with my weight all the time, and I have little to no motivation.

I have reasons for motivation -- for example, it's almost swimsuit season, and beyond that I have a modeling/acting contract to keep -- but because of my serious depression, I can barely will myself to even go to school, much less get out and exercise. Anyone have some motivation tips, dieting tips, or just general things that worked for them? I want to get down to 125 or 130 pounds. Thanks!

So I'm not doing TOO horribly.. But my belly and love handles need to go! Any help?

You probably won't be down for this summer (Sorry, but I got to be honest) But take a look at curvie girls (sp?) Before and afters/diary, I think that's pretty much the best motivation and routine I've seen here. :)
Good luck!

Hey. I have a really similar body type to you. All my fat gathers of my stomach, which really sucks. I need to lose about 8-10 pounds...I'm working on it, taking it slowly. I'm also exercising...going running every day. I know you can do it if you try! Try making a weight loss journal. I have one and it really helps.

Don't get down

First let me say this. If you’re feeling down about yourself find someone you can talk to about it. You have made a good start by posting on this board. It has really helped me stay motivated. There is a lot of good advice as well as great inspiration. You said that you feel so bad that you don't want to go to school. Trust me I have been there too. When I was your age I was the fat nerdy kid. The thing that saved me was going in the exact direction that the "pretty people" were trying to push me away from. That was sports. I tried out for the wrestling squad and made the second string cut. This forced me to start to work out every day after school until I eventually started getting stronger and I started to lose a bunch of weight. I finally made the varsity team and stayed on it until I graduated. Needless to say it gave me a level of confidence in myself as well raising my self esteem. Of course after high school I picked up unhealthy habits and so I am having to get in shape again. The good thing is that I remember how it felt to feel good about myself as well as looking good. Long in short of it is don’t hide yourself away. Get involved in anything that keeps you active. Whether it is volleyball, track, or any other sport. You can have fun and get in shape at the same time. Remember it is not dieting it is changing your lifestyle to a healthy one. Not just physically but mentally as well.
Please keep posting here and we will give you as much support as we can.
