2010: 16 or 16 1/2 stone...

2011: 13st 11.. 29/5/11.

UPDATE: a couple more lb lighter this week :) 7/6/11

UPDATE August 2011: I still have horrible "love handles" which I've kinda hidden in this pic but just wanted to show that for the first time I can (kind of) see some kind of muscle/ab situation going on lol :p They are so hard to get rid of, but due to not being able to spot train I have to do it through overall weight loss!

A few bits of advice for people starting their journey;

. DRINK LOTS OF WATER. It's annoying I know, and boring...but try and carry a bottle of it with you whereever you go. I have only recently learned the importance of this and have had great results whilst doing so.

. Do 30mins of cardio per day. If you are too busy, just do 10 minutes here and there and work it up to 30mins at the end of the day.
You dont 'need' a gym. Just go for a good walk, (go quick) and also try running, its so good for you! A skipping rope also works wonders, as do all things like pushups/situps and all that jazz.

. Try not to eat soon before bed. I always have my last meal at 7pm, and I eat 3 square meals a day. I'm aware some people eat 6x a day in smaller portions; I sometimes do that, but made sure a protien shake was the last meal.

Thanks for looking,

Dan

Hey,

I had to look up the difference between stones and pounds and you were at right about where I am currently (starting the journey *cough*again*cough*). If google is right (it usually is right?) and if I read it right that you are 11 stones now way to go! That's probably lower than I will be going but it looks good on you man.

Just out of curiosity what are your plans when you reach your goal? are you going to try and bulk (with muscle?) or maintain ? May seem like a random question but it's something I always find interesting to find out.

Grats again!

Thanks guys :)

I try to work out atleast 3x a week, but to be honest at the moment I'm probably doing 4x a week for atleast an hour a day if not more.

I really started noticing weight coming off when I quit alcohol for a month and started running. I really recommend running to anyone; it sucks while you get started...you can only do a few minutes, but now I can go running over hill terrain for an hour :)

PS: i posted another new picture above :)

You look great! The water advice is so important i've found. I went through a faze of not drinking very much because i thought the weight of the water was just making me heavier on the scales, without really realising just how important it is and how beneficial it is to weight loss. I wish I organised myself enough to eat 3 square meals a day, but with work for 8 hours a day and not being provided with a break to eat, its too difficult.

But still, you look great, almost as if you couldn't find 1.5st to lose.

Amazing difference. I know I feel great after switching to water, it's so helpful, especially if you have a food craving. I just wish I could get myself as active as you!

You can do it, just work at it. :)

I've just had a nice, yet very unhealthy week off my healthy eating lifestyle and it has been great. I only did this because I have been strict for months and felt like I deserved a break. To finish my reward I'm going to Plymouth for the weekend to get really drunk with some old friends; I know I will come back looking less in shape, but I will be straight back on the regime when I return. New pics at the top by the way guys.

Great progress!

Do you ever do (weighted) side bends for the love handles? Those are my favorites.

The bold: so true!
