Before and between .. 186lbs to 149lbs

Hello there! I joined weighlossforums absolutely ages ago and have been losing little bits of weight and then stopping.. then losing a bit more, then stopping ..etc for about two years now, gradually losing, but recently I've been really determined and have lost 14lbs in the last few months.

The before pic of me is at a Summer Ball weighing about 186lbs when I was nearly at my heaviest, about a UK size 18. Yikes, I can't believe how big my face looks! (I blanked out my friend's face in case he doesn't want his mug on the internet!)

The between pic was taken recently at a friend's wedding in a UK size 14 dress. I'm 5ft 4" and 149lbs so I've lost about 37lbs so far. I'm hoping to reach my target weight of between 125 - 130lbs by Christmas, so I shall post my after picture then, hopefully!

Sorry the pics aren't from the same distance or in the same clothes etc... I avoid getting my photo taken like the plague (esp when I was bigger!) so I don't have many to compare. Hopefully you can see a bit of a difference.

Great job, you look fantastic. Since I have the same target, age, pounds and history like you-185-down to 150 now, may I ask you to share what program you are following: calorie intake, exercise etc...

Awww thanks guys, it's so nice to get some positive feedback. When weight loss is quite gradual you don't notice it so much yourself!

Enkata - that's uncanny we share all those things the same! How cool! :D It'd be interesting to see how we both do in the future! As for diet I am not following any specific plan but I generally count calories (1,200 - 1,400 a day, I'm not super strict) and try and keep things low fat. I also tend to eat less carbs than I used to and I avoid carby foods in the evenings or have smaller portions of things like pasta/rice and have a big salad with them to fill me up.

How about you? What are you doing? As you said, it'd be interesting to hear!

I'm on a site called where you can track everything you eat in a day and it calculates calories, fat, carbs etc and it's totally free. It's helped me to realise which foods to steer clear of and if I'm getting enough of certain foods/nutrients in a day. I've surprised myself a few times using the food tracker by not actually eating enough cals .. and if you do that they say you body can go into starvation mode which makes it harder to lose weight (so the internet tells me! hehe).

As for exercise, I can't do too much as I have chronic fatigue syndrome(which is why my cals are quite low - sedentary lifestyle!) but I try and do a 15 - 20 min walk everyday when I'm well enough. So really, it's all down to diet for me. I aim to lose a pound every week - it's slow, but I'm gettin' there!

My personal faves:
Warm cup of skim milk (sometimes with diet hot choc powder) before bed fills me up (as I'm always hungry at night!) and helps me sleep.

High fibre breakfast (All-bran & raisins, fruit n fibre) stops me feeling hungry 'til lunch.

Almost every day I bulk up my main meal with absolutely loads (and I mean loads!) of salad - lettuce, cucumber, tomato, raw carrot, etc and it's really filling with not too many calories.

On those I NEED CHOCOLATE days I get Cadburys 100cal choc bar and eat it really really slowly and savour every mouthful! Yummmmmm!

I only eat bread once in a day (I find I don't lose if I eat too much of it).

When I'm desperate for a savoury snack I have laughing cow light cheese triangles (30cals-ish) on rice crackers (30cals) and maybe a slice of ham.

Errmmm.. ooops, I wrote quite a bit there didn't I?! haha! If you actually read this to the end then well done and er.. I'm sorry! lol ;)

weight loss buddy

Hi again, thank you for the info. You are doing great and you have acomplished a great result way more easy than I am.I try to eat 1400 c a day, smaller meals but more often, and a lot of excersize.1 hour running, than sit ups, than 1 hour swimming at the end I can hardly walk+ the most important exersize-I have 2 small kids (2 and 3 years old).and still my results are not that good for everything that I do.I guess,I make a mistake somewhere down the road. It;s been like this for over 3 months now,but I won't give up.I'll try to make some new pictures, and will find old to compare.
We can do it!

Hello Cathidee you look to be doing a FANT-A-BULOUS job!! Keep it up! Great Smile btw. ;)
