I'm a 15 year old female who has dieted for about a year. Back in 2005 I was pretty fat, but when I started eating smaller portions, excersizing, and watching what I eat, I started losing weight little by little, and that's pretty much how I got to the point I am today.
I'm not a person who likes excersizing, but it's just something you have to do. I did, and I'm pretty happy with myself, although I'm working out about 4-5 times a week now to lose some of my thigh fat.
