Barbell Curls

hello! :)

When im working my bicepts I do bicept curls with barbells and dumbells. When I use a barbell I get pains in my left forearm after about 8 reps. Maybe my posture is wrong but I have been on youtube and I use the same posture as they say to do. Should I drop the exercise (barbell curls) ?

Thanks :action3:

Drop the weight and see how it goes then.

But BB curls can sometimes feel un natural, and an EZ bar probably provides a better hand/arm position.

Ahhh k mate. I do feel it works the biecpt well but I do get the pain which is anoying. I wouldn't mind buying an EZ bar but I have other things to buy at the moment. Like I say I can use dumbells which are also good ;)

yeah, a lot of people thinks that barbell curls are awkward since you need to keep your arms maximally supinated. Try with DBs or an EZ bar where you can keep your hands in a more natural position.

It should be said, though, that supinated puts the biceps in a better position to work and will stress it more. But I don't think you will see that much of a difference from an EZ curl bar that just pronates the hand a little compared to a max supinated position.

i had that same pain in my forarms from curls. Both suggestions, going lighter with a straight bar and/or using the ez-curl bar, eliminated the pain.
