Back Work

Since Jan 9th I have been able to lose 7 pounds. Good news! I am starting to see a lot of improvement in my overall gut area. However......the "pooch" is still there when I totally relax my stomach muscles. So I'm wondering....would working my lower back muscles help improve my abs?

you should work your lower back anyway.

Build up the muscle to take the strain away from your spine. This will help you a lot once you hit 40. also if you every have an acident and hurt your spine, your extra muscle will support it and help you recover.

so yes you should be working your lower back.

Strengthening your core and doing some rotator cuff work should help improve your posture yes. It also helps to prevent injury when lifting if you have a strong core.
