Atkins question!!!!!

I stick to a low carb not no carb....whole naturall, unprocessed foods. I tried the Atkins but I tried to stay on the induction phase because I thought I'd lose more weight. Needless to say it didn't last long since 20 carbs a day is unrealistic. Now all of my carbs come from mostly fuit which I eat at the begining of my day. I'll have a sliced apple, reduced fat string cheese, and a handful of almonds for breakfast.....a cup of strawberries for a snack....a big salad with spinach, mushrooms, peppers, cucumbers, eggs, and grilled chicken is lunch.....more almonds for snacking...dinner is a small steak fillet and a green veggie. I always have string cheese around. I too LOVE cheese. A lot of people I know have had great success on atkins, but just like anything else the weight will come back fast if you go back to old eating habits. The above meal plan is what I stick to Mon-Fri. I'm a little more laid back through the weekend and will have a deli sandwhich made on thin whole wheat flat bread and indulge in the higher carb fruits, such as, pineapple, banana, watermelon and such. On Sundays I'll have WHATEVER I want for lunch so I don't go insane. After years of struggling with my weight I've learned this: Somedays I'm going to fail ...and that's ok....it's not a reason to give up. Just keep going! I wish you luck! :hurray:

This is the problem with following a fad diet, much less following it w/out actually getting the book and READING it.

There are valid points to the Atkins diet ... IF YOU ARE FOLLOWING THE DIET. If you're just guessing what the diet allows and talks about based on the website, then you're not following the diet and you're not getting the additional nutritional information that's included in the book.

No, if you read the book, you'll find out that you're NOT allowed to gorge on high fat foods just because. You'll find out that you still have to be moderate in your choices.

Aside from that, I don't believe in restrictive diets. I believe in eating healthy, balanced meals made of real food. Cutting out whole food groups is unrealistic and unhealthy, IMO. But if you MUST try the diet, please to it properly, by getting the book and reading EVERYTHING that's in it ... not just guessing about what you should be doing based on partial information from the website.

Could you stop yelling at people over not purchasing a book? This is like the 4th thread I've seen you do this in now.. and I've only ready about 10 so far. Your posts are just annoying quite frankly.

I am on atkins and i feel i can do it as a lifestyle change, obviously i will not eat 0 carbs forever but i think i will realize that eating a ton of breadsticks and white pasta for dinner 5 nights a week is not going to make me have a nice body or feel energized.

wow

I have tried Atkins twice and lost about 30lbs both times but I also gained 30 lbs back both times. I found as soon as I introduced carbs I gained the weight back. Losing weight and keeping it off requires a balanced diet (I hate that word) and some exercise (I hate that word to). Even though I hate exercise I know I need to do it.

I found a very good meal planner online that works great for me (I have been reading the rules so I won't post the name yet but you could PM me if you would like to know where to find it). It helps balance your diet including calories, carbs, protein, fats and nutrients.

I know carbs don't agree with me so I leave them low on purpose but I don't eliminate them. I eat the foods I want and I have lost that 30 lbs again but this time I'm not depriving myself like you do on a diet so I can see doing this for the rest of my life.

It has been a while since your first post, how is it going?

Is it fine to wear zoloband while working out? Any side effects?

Whats w/ plastering the forum w/ questions about zoloband?? I'm going to have to delete the many other posts you left w/ the same question. One question is enough, not 20.

ok
so i am on the atkins diet and it can be a lifestyle change
you inly nearly eliminate all carbs at the induction stage after induction you start to add carbs back in plus you can make low carb breads etc which is a better alternative to store bought breads anyways.y
you know i have read lots of posts about the atkins on here and its the same people all the time that knock it and basically talk bs about it
you need to read the book hun, you have the basic concept of it but it wouldnt hurt to read about it all and read it twice to make sure you understamd it.
It is not a "fad diet" it is a lifestyle change! and you do not eliminate whole food groups
so far the atkins is the only diet that works and suits me and i think i could stick to a "low" carb plan for life

sometimes reading this board gets me so riled up its unbelievable.
The best thing you can do is find a diet that suits you. Atkins suits me perfectly and is working but i cannot tell you if it will work for you same as NOBODY on this board can.
