are zinc and zinc oxide the same ?

ive put this post up so many times and no one knows i guess, but ill try one more time.

is zinc = zinc oxide

because my multivitamin has 25g of zinc oxide (2 caplets)
if zinc and zinc oxide ARE the same then 25g of it is quite a bit per day ... this is why i wana know if they are the same.

i also want to take an extra zinc supplement (only if zinc is not the same as zinc oxide) ... ive chekd all over the net ... i cant find ne thing.

i guess dey are all the same? zinc oxide = an oxidised ver. of zinc?

i believe the extra oxygen wont make a difference.. heehee.. hope my vague reply mite be useful..
