Anyone watching Biggest Loser?

Yes, please let it go. Not worth typing space.

I'm a big fan of the show. Yes, there are some things that could be better but it's still interesting. I was also really disappointed with John's elimination. I was hoping he would be among the last few standing. What left me even more heartbroken was the blue team's elimination. Their mother/daughter relationship seemed like such a contrast to the green's.

After ignoring the warning, Sephora has now been banned. I don't have a problem with a healthy argument, but nobody comes in here and throws abusive language at other members. Period.

Back to the original topic now, and have fun. :)

whose you're least favorite player? mine would be melissa from the red team. she clearly is trying to throw it, but shes so "im not lying!!!" I dont see how you can only lose 1 lb twice? and they exercise and exercise and eat right. either shes slacking on exercising or eating more then is recommended. I could see any of us only losing 1lb twice becase we have jobs and lives and dont have all day to exercise. idk. is it possible to have two "off" weeks like that? without trying for them?

I wouldn't think so but it could be possable...then again like you said could be some slacking off on her part too..I don't see why anyone would want to screw up a chance they have seems pointless, I know it is a "game" but so what your health isn't.

I absolutely agree! Yes its a game, yes you are playing for money, but you're also there to learn life lessons and to learn what can happen if you continue on down this bad road. there are people there who need the second chance at life more then they need the money and i think they knw that and arnt just playing the game. But melissa seems to not care about her weight, to me, she strikes me as only caring about the game. Remember last year? that chick from the purple team who only ever played the game and then no one liked her? she reminds me of her.

Yes, I have been trying to figure out who she reminded me of...another thing that annoys me is when they have imunnity and gain or stay on purpose that's just being stupid in my opinion.

The Biggest Loser is one of the healthiest and most effective "diet show" I have known so far. It is also inspiring because even I as a viewer does some of the things that the big ones do in the show. If you can see, there really is a BIG change on the contestants at the end of the show. Their ways of dieting and exercising are really effective. I guess it also depends on the person if she or he has the motivation to lose weight.

A couple of things, well apparently when in an immunity week the weight change is minimal they have "waterloaded" which means they drink like 10 l of water of something before their weigh in to trick the scales. The idea is that next week when immunity is over they will have a huge loss and won't go under the yellow line. So technically they still lost the weight on the immunity weks, they are just masking it in favour of the game.

Secondly, yesterday I read this article that was a bit of a downer. As said before I never really watched the show or even had any interest in it before, but I liked it when I watched it this year, liked that they were big on the eating-exercising (instead of surgery which most weight loss shows are about these days).
However the article said that one of the contestants (it may have been season 1 winner) stated that they are constantly dehydrated there, to the point of near kidney failure (urinating blood). That the final weigh in they can barely stand and that one contestant weighed 35 pounds more like 2 weeks after her final weigh in, just mainly from drinking normal amounts of water and hydrating the body again. It was an article from the NYtimes so not from some crappy gossip magazine.
It also said that the contestants sign 2 waivers before entering competition, one that states they are in "excellent physical and mental health". How exactly is a 500 pound man in excellent physical health? Or a woman with diabetes and neurological affection from it? And another one stating they won't say a bad word about TBL after the programm (with a clause, like I don't know 5 years after the show or 10... which explains why season 1 winner came out now). Apparently they get nothing to prove that the medics attending them are actually medical professionals and Jillian (who is my imaginary girlfriend by the way although this upset me and I thought about getting a new imaginary girlfriend!) stated that the dehydration etc, is just "the dark side of the show".
The article also said that season 1 winner is back to the weight he was before starting, which is not surprising, I mean of course if they go back to bad habits they will gain the weight back, I know some of them have managed to maintain the loss so that is just personal and in the normal spectrum I think.

I guess deep down I knew most of this kind of stuff was probably happening, but it still was a bit of an eye opener. I am probably still going to watch it, and I understand that it is a extreme program and for it to be as extreme as it is they need to be pretty extreme at the scales, the human body just has some limitations and they fight against those by dehydrating or overhydrating to stay in the game and to make it shocking. Nobody would be as overwhelmed if they just lost 2 or 3 pounds a week. And the change would not be as radical after like 20 weeks, which is what the show shoots for, a complete and utter transformation.

Anyhow I thought about this thread when reading that article, which by the way is here:

I am still rooting for purple Stephanie, I like her, and I also like the pink mom and daughter team, the pink daughter really needs to lose weight and she has some other addictions it seemed last week (drinking, smoking in excess), I just hope this journey makes her healthier.

Wow I doubt any of them are in "ecellent physical health" otherwise what is the point of them beign there. And it is stupid if they let the contestants get that dehydrated. Man I hope that is not really true.

Anyways I like the pink team too.

BL TONIGHT! I heard TWO people are going to be eliminated tonight. So far, the only person I wouldn't mind leaving is the lady on the red team. The rest seem like theyre genuinely there to make a difference. Hopefully purple, orange and gray make it through this week! I'll be cheering for them the rest of the season :D

yeah the woman on red needs to go.
i think the yellow team is kickass, because they lost the same amount of weight in that period off the show that the groups on the show lost, i don't know if they'll survive to the end though.
i like the big dude on the white team too it sucks everybody there hates him.
i got my money on grey team though

edit: wow just saw results for melissa (chick on red team). karma.

ughh I realllllly wanted Melissa to GO! That woman annoys me so bad.

I really really like the yellow team, they're my favorite <3 And they did such an amaaazing job at home and it goes to show that you CAN do it at home! I almost feel like them coming to the ranch is going to spoil them and make them lose that drive they had at home, but I'm rooting for them!

Jeez how lame last night with the "To be continued" crap. :cuss:

I also get annoyed with them going to commercial after every other weigh-in and they show all these "shocked" expressions right before the break. I can't stand to watch it live anymore so thank goodness for the DVR! :)

thank goodness for the DVR! :)

Amen. I'd go nuts if I couldnt FF through the 5 commercial breaks they make during weigh in.

Im happy that the red lady got das boot. Still, the fact that her weight went up again kind of exonerates her from being called a liar. Talk about abnormal weight flucuations. It looks like she made an honest effort and she still got messed up. So, I'm not sure whats up with that, but she was a real competitor. I'm a little annoyed we didn't find out who ELSE got booted. Daryl seemed like he was about to give in towards the end. Just my opinion.

Everyone is realizing Gray is the team to beat right now. I think Sam has the most heart out of anyone on the show, and I think hes tearing it up right now. So, my top 3 are sam, koli and stephanie. I think they are all gonna get pretty far this season.

I love The Biggest Loser. I'm so glad Melissa is gone unfortunately I missed the episode because my roommate watches Lost and records NCIS:LA. I'm anxiously waiting for it to be available online so I can see her go down.

I still think she threw the other weigh ins and that it came back to bite her. Her body was just not adjusting right because she was "in game mode" too often when she had immunity.

Go Grey Team!!

Dang now Im really mad I missed it but I think it is on again on one of my many channels. So I'm going toh ave to stay up later and see if I can find it.
