Any difference?

Hi out there just coming on here to ask a few questions of you awesome people who are reading this right now. I'm not really big on using a scale so i haven't used one since i began working out and living healthier, at the beginning of this year i quit smoking and have stayed quit since because i decided to live healthier. Well that included getting off my rear end and working out more and doing more in my life instead of letting it pass me by. I wanted to ask your opinions to see if you see any difference in my before and during pics. If you do then i know I'm on the right track but if not then im gonna kick my butt into high gear and really start burning the fat!

I do see a difference for sure. You are doing great, it takes time to transform your body. Keep up the great work! Sometimes doing measurements are better than weighing. I know I've only lost 37lbs now but I'm down 13 inches! So that might be an idea, give yourself credit for the hard work!

Hi there~

Congrats on your very wise decisions to quit smoking AND lose weight & get in shape! I know it's really common to GAIN a bunch of weight when quitting smoking, so your resolve is admirable!!! :hurray:

As far as the before & afters... I do think I can see a difference, but it's a little hard to tell because of the lighting and perspective difference of the photos. Let's put it this way, if you're standing about the same in both shots and not slouching and sticking your gut out in one and standing up straight and sucking it in in the other, then, yes.... there is a visible difference. :)

Keep up the good work!

Yes, I see a difference, too, very clearly. And congrats on your healthy living decision. Long may it continue. I agree with the first poster - I gave up the scale over a year ago and have been using both my tape measure and my old blue jeans as my method of assessing progress. It was far less stressful and more gratifying for me. I went from over 41" hips at the hip bone to below 36" now. You can get a tape measure in the sewing aisle at any walmart (ask a clerk if you don't see it - you can tell them it is for your mom or girlfriend if you feel self conscious) if you don't want to walk into a sewing / fabric store. Keep up the GREAT work. :)

here is some better lighted pictures so you can see them better =]

Keep working hard... get one of those rope tape measures and keep track that way if you dont want to use a scale.. Small change that i can see but long term is all that matters.. it doesnt matter what you look like in the mirror right now.. focus on long term!

I really love these forums haha. ive been reading on here all afternoon and it wasnt enough anymore that i only did my workout in the morning...oh no i needed to work out tonight and im glad i did! i broke my own personal time and i feel that much better about myself! did anyone else ever notice that when you get in the rhythm of working out that you want to do it even more? i have more energy, i want to do more, and needless to say i actually get it done!

just a quick update i kind of slipped but I'm back on track again and i can definitely see difference now so here's my newest comparison shots. =]

try to avoid posting updated pics every lb lost, you have a way to go yet and it could be painful to watch :D

Keep it up though on the diet/exercise. Whatever you are doing is clearly working out for you :)
