any advice on a back injury?

I have a micro fiber tear in my upper back muscle. The intial tear was on Feb. 28th, when I was working out. I thought it was healed, but I tore it again on May 20th while working shoulders. Now I am afraid to work out at all. I am trying to wait until it heals, but it doesn't feel like it ever will. Anyone have any advice on how to speed this whole healing process up, so I can get back into the gym. I am quickly losing all the muscle I worked so hard to put on.
 
Make sure your diet is in order so the body has the greatest repair process.

Get plenty of protein and carbs and make sure your fat intake is inline.

I think in your case a 40/40/20 distribution should help.

I hate to say don't workout, but you need to stop stressing your back. That means no deadlifts, no rows, no pull-ups, etc.
 
i agree with cynic; you diet is probably the most important factor you can improve to speed recovery. i had a bad back injury and i know what you feel like when you say you never think it will heal but it does eventually : ). Just ttry not to hurt it again and eat well.
