Hello!
I have been reading all your posts now for about a week. I feel like I know you all already! lol I've never joined a group, online or otherwise, in my efforts to lose weight. But you all seem so nice, I don't feel as nervous about it as I thought I would.
A quick background and intro... I've NEVER been slim. But before my first son was born, I hovered around 160 lbs. I'm 5'3. Like I said, not slim, but I could eat pretty much anything I wanted and was content with that.
I gained a LOT of weight with my first son (9 years ago)... he was born with a lot of health problems and is now severely disabled, and I think I lived with depression for quite a few years. When I finally got my head clear, at about 230 lbs, I managed to lose down to about 189 or so. I met my current hubby, we had another baby (healthy) boy, and my top weight was around 260 at the end of the pregnancy. I lost some of it right after he was born, and seemed to settle in at about 244. The baby is now 21 months old, and I'm so tired of being so tired all the time. I'm ready to lose it, and have been struggling with getting started for a couple of years now. The last couple of weeks, I have been walking about a mile a day and sporadically going to the gym. I've lost down to 239.
More than anything, I can't believe that this has gotten so out of control for me! I'm ready to do this... and not only lose the weight gained, but to actually be somewhat slender for the first time in my life.
I'm glad to have found such a wonderful supporting group of folks. It seems that you all are so sweet about really helping out and replying to posts. I hope you'll welcome me into your family!
As soon as I can, I'll get my ticker going and post some pics!
Until later,
Rachel

I can really relate to you hun! I was always 150-160 until I got pregnant with my first child. I had undiagnosed gestational diebetis and shot up to 280 while pregnant with him. I have had 3 children now and hit an all time high of 298 (not counting the part of the pregnancy weight that quickly came off) My youngest is turning 4 in January. Ive been on program since March 10th of this year and now weigh 210- working on getting to 139, just because I have never been that size and want to prove to myself I can. :)

And yes post pictures as soon as you can- they are wonderful to see where you came from and where your headed.
