Another new start for Icychic

It's been about 2.5 years since I was last on here, and now I'm up to 168 lbs. I'm going the wrong way and it's not ok! So with a new year almost here, I'm back to start posting my progress and be accountable again.

Living situation unchanged: live with the hubby and our dog in my in-laws basement. They have a dog and their other son also lives in the house. So 5 adults and 2 dogs under one roof. This means meals are difficult cuz I can't cook just for 2 of us, and cooking for everyone everyday is not something I'm wanting to do. I cook on the weekends, but during the week it's usually fend for yourself resulting in frozen meals, soups, or pasta. Not good.

I have been bad lately with pop and chocolates and junk and that needs to stop too. I need to plan better lunches and dinners. Cook for everyone and if others don't eat it, freeze or take for lunch.

In addition to better eating habits I must work out. Bought a curtain that I hope to put up at the bottom of the stairs today with help from hubby so I can have privacy during workouts, a big reason I haven't been doing anything since there is always someone home who can come down at any minute.

So my goals for 2020:
1. Start eating better.
2. Regular workouts - at least twice a week though everyday would be better.
3. Weekly weigh-ins and weekly or monthly measurements.
4. Hit 159 by May 30th, about 0.5 lb per week.
5. 145 lbs by Dec 31st.

Welcome back Icy! Your plan sounds sensible and starting before things get out of hand too much is never a bad idea.

Hi, Icy & welcome back to the forum. I like your goals. They look doable to me. I'm aiming for a similar weight-loss rate & have 12 kg to lose. We can do this :)

Hello, Icy! I'm another person who's new since you were last here - female, well "overweight", but on my way down from being "obese". :) There are a few of us here who are just getting "back on track" after Christmas - so it's great that you're back on the track along with us!

Alligatorob: I already had, and just posted my statting weight and goals. Good luck!

Thanks for all the welcome and well wishes! Here's hoping we all reach our goals in 2020!

So obviously I haven't been posting anything or following up with anyone of you. I hope everyone has been doing well, and the whole Covid thing hasn't been too bad for anyone.

My goals this year: Not met at all. Weight basically unchanged. Living situation sucks. Still not working out regularly. Still not eating good. But A got a job in the middle of this whole pandemic! And he has been getting along great with the crew he works with. We've even hung out a couple times outside his work, and some of them came over to help us replace a sliding glass door.

I came back to this site cuz hubby and I were discussing gym membership and how I lost weight for the wedding. He said we went to the gym years before we got married, and this forum reminded me of how I lost weight through my own determination and hard work. Gives me hope that I can do it again, but not in our current situation. Not being pessimistic, just realistic. I know myself, and I've tried but I know it really won't happen here.

I started a tax/bookkeeping business but not making money yet. Stressful trying to get clients and get my name out there. My hope is the next few months I get enough year round clients to either cut down my hours or quit my full time job, and have enough income to buy a new car and a home for just us. Once we're on our own I'll be able to work out and cook often and better and keep junk out of the house. For now, I'll have to try smaller things like not eating huge meals. Huge fail today, overflowing plate of Chinese I do have hope for the future, just not the immediate future.

I'm not gonna promise to post on here or weigh in regularly or anything right now because I'll just feel like a failure when I don't stick to it. But I will promise to work harder to grow my business and take a little better care of myself.

I'll check in again when I can. Take care everyone!!

My weight has stayed the same this year, too Icy. I still have 12 kg to go. Let’s hope 2021 will be better. Thanks for checking in with us xo
