I am a 24 year old woman. I have never been really overweight and also now I’m at a healthy weight, so my BMI is okay.

But the problem is that I don’t feel good about myself and my body. I sometimes loose a couple kilos and then I feel great, but I never seem to be able to keep it up.

Now in the new year and my planned wedding on August 31st 2019, I would like to change my lifestyle. I want to feel and be the best version of myself on the most beautiful day of my life. To get there I want to eat more healthy, do regular sports and the main goal is to feel good about my own body.

Current:
  • weight 73 kg
  • height 176 cm
  • BMI 23.6

Goal:
  • weight 65 kg
  • height 176 cm
  • BMI 21.0
Lose 8 kg in 8 months.

I want to reach these goals by eating smaller portions. Als by going to the gym at least 2 times a week (this should be possible with my work schedule and the gym being around the corner). At the gym I will do regular measurement of my body with weighing. Between those times I will weigh myself weekly at home.

I also want to eat less junk (sweets, fat, breads, etc.) and replace these with more fruit, nuts, rice waffles, crackers and such things.
I hope this forum can help me with my struggles when I fall back in to my old habits. I want this to become my daily/weekly update place where I let the world know how I’m doing in my progress.

My goals are quite realistic. I have lost a couple kilo’s before. I don’t need to lose a lot, the main goal is to keep the good work up and stay the most healthy and good version of myself. A kilo per month is not an unrealistic goal.

I will start tomorrow on the 1st of January 2019. I know, kinda cliché ;) but it’s a good day to start with new habits.

I will also try to think of a reward system, so that i can look forward to certain goals.

Hello Anita and welcome to the forum! It´s always nice to see people com in with healthy, realistic goals. Plus of course congratulations on the upcoming wedding!

Thank you for your message LaMaria! Hopefully it's as realistic as I think ;)

Yesterday was a relaxed day. After new Year's we didn't do so much ;) today at work it went very well with not eating any bad stuff.

I decided to keep a food diary, with the Lifesum app. I am also tracking my water intake with that. It helps me to keep track of the calories I've been eating.
I also decided to start an Instagram account for my progress. So I can easily share pictures there.

Tonight I'm gonna go to the gym!

Off to a good start! Tracking your food is one of the few things that's got some actual data showing it can help with eight loss.

Hi, Anita & welcome to the forum. Feeling good about your body is vital. Your goals sound realistic & positive. Tracking calories can be very time consuming but I think is helpful. It helps to see where you can improve your diet.
