Angel's Diary

Yet another unproductive day trying to shed some pounds with a dysfunctional back... (Or should I say "dysfunctional state of mind"). What am I going to do? Maybe I'm just using my back pain as an excuse to not work out. I wonder if I would be working out if my back was perfectly fine!?! I guess the question of the day is..."How do I get motivated to get off my lazy ass and begin a healthier way of living"?

Your diary is in the wrong place - eek!

Ill move it into the diaries section for you :)

Welcome to the weight loss forum, good to meet you :)

welcome anglefly to your diary :)
i know what it means to have back pain problems. i had them for several years now, and its a circle...it will stop hurting when i lose weight, but for me to lose weight i need to exercise etc.
well first i had a talk with my doctor to see which exercises i can and can't do. shoes you're wearing are also important when working out. i do aerobics (but i try not to jump too much - i already know my limit) and strength training. whenever there are exercises that put direct strain on my lower back i do them without the dumbbells. and its eems to be working. and the instructor is always warning me when i'm not in the right position 'cause she knows my problem.
so i advise you to talk it over with your doctor. and when you sign up for something just pay attention not to strain yourself too much and work out a program for you with your instructor :)
