There is such a thing as milk tea, which is cold, but it's a different thing entirely (and Asian/ Oriental, so perhaps less likely you had it when you were that young, depending on the degree of cultural influence in the UK at the time). The one I'm talking about is more like Lipton ice tea, which you can buy in bottles here (I think in Sainsbury's and Waitrose) but is painfully expensive (and I'm not sure you can get the diet version here either). This drink isn't meant to have milk in it, and I wouldn't recommend adding it (you can try, I don't know what the squash would do to it... but it just seems odd to me). It's usually sweetened (with sugar), but diluting it is meant to reduce/ eliminate the need for that. I think peach squash would work (Lipton sell a ice tea with peach), I just prefer lemon (I think citrus is more refreshing). I use Robinson's no sugar added squash to make mine.
