Amy's weight loss diary

hmm, hubby always misses the English wine gums, the Australian ones dont have the same texture or hardness.

Ugh i'm sorry you're suffering with your monthly misery. No babies though. Ohhhh no.

Definitely need to put more thought into the sweets and stuff, there's such an overlap. The wine gums might be interesting as a form of comparison though, Trusylver, there's a thought. Another thing that would be interesting (although impractical) is to compare the chocolate- the chocolate here is made with a lower melt temperature and I understand British expats don't like the Australian stuff much (I didn't notice a difference from Australia to the UK). Going to have a wander through the supermarkets around here and go to the sweet shop in the big shopping centre in town, see what they have.

My diet is not going to be even remotely the same when I get back to Australia. I let slip this morning that I weigh all my food, and my mum has said that that won't continue. Plus it sounds like she plans to spoil me absolutely rotten, so my diet may get shot to pieces. I plan to be a lot more active at home, though, so maybe that'll compensate.

"Dear body:

Me having a baby anytime in the next 3-5 years would be a complete and utter disaster for everybody concerned. No matter how much pain, misery, or other hormonal bullshit you choose to put me through, I don't have the time, the finances, the job (let alone career stability!), the savings, the security in country of residence, or anything else that I would regard as remotely close to a prerequisite to even considering the notion of contemplating reproducing without being incredibly irresponsible and/ or out of my mind. So you're not going to get anywhere with this nonsense, no matter how much of a tantrum you throw.

Love,

Amy"

I'm rolling on the floor :rotflmao:

I aim to please :D (well, I was just venting, but I'm glad I amused people)

In other news, that vegetable curry just keeps getting better and better. The flavours really come together after a couple of days in the fridge.

Thanks :D I'm pretty chuffed. They're damn tight, but they fit, do up, and aren't digging in or anything.

My boyfriend's starting to get miserable about the fact I'm leaving. He bought me this and put his name next to Pooh and mine next to the balloon:

Oh, and I tried on two more things today (one for my own purposes, one to show my boyfriend). The first was a silky purple top I brought with me to the UK. I bought it to wear to a wedding I went to years ago. Fifteen years ago. I was eleven. It fits.

I also showed my boyfriend the little black dress I took a picture of and showed you guys awhile ago. He did have plans to take me to the lovely though unpretentious Greek restaurant not too far from here. He's rethinking that, so he can find somewhere to show me off in that dress :D

Thanks :) I still can't believe it. They're a little uncomfortable, but I've been wearing them all day rather than getting into a more comfortable pair, because... I'm wearing size 8 jeans :D

And he really is a sweetheart. He's already plotting what to do to spoil me when I get back. I suspect I'll come home to a fridge full of food, flowers, and probably a bunch of other things that haven't yet sprung to mind. (He also told me when I tried on my dress in front of him that he should buy me some nicer jewellery to go with it)

size 8.
SIZE 8?
Shut the front door! Amyyyyyy, you're a superstar. With a hot ass.

SO HAPPY 4 U :party::party:

Size 8 is so small!!!!!well done Amy girl!!!!!!!!!!!YOu look so fantastic!!!!!i was looking at the before pics the one that you are wearing jeans and its like another person!!!!WAY TO GOOOO!!!

Thanks very much, guys, I can't tell you how much I appreciate it :D

In the final countdown to me going home. I have so much to do and no idea where to start. Aargh, stress.

Oh, and when I started losing weight calorie counting I bought two pairs of size 12 jeans. One of them was loose almost immediately, and I've been wearing a belt with them for weeks because that's the only way they'd stay up. The other ones are a much tighter cut- but are definitely loose now. As in, I can fit my fist down the waistband without sucking my stomach in. Not falling down... yet, but will need to use the belt with them soon too.

One more thing. Ice tea. There's a "heat wave" in the UK right now (definitions may vary on "heat wave"- it's not above blood temperature, it's not that damn hot)

Make a strong pot of tea or approx 1.5 litres of tea (use at least one more person's serve than you would normally use)- leave it to infuse for ten minutes. Optional extra, add a serve (or a teabag) of peppermint tea. Remove tea, set aside to cool to room temperature. Once cooled, use a diet squash/ cordial (squash in the UK sense, cordial in the Australian), and add it as if you were adding to water (1 part squash to 3-4 parts water, usually). Put in the fridge and wait to cool. To serve, dilute further (1 part water to 2 tea mix, or to taste), add ice cubes. The way I make it it's about 5 calories for 200ml of tea mix- so about 5 calories for 300ml.

OH MY GOD, I AGREE WITH WHAT EVERYONE ELSE SAID :D You are rocking those jeans. It is my distant ultimate dream to be a size 8, and you are there! YOUR THERE!!!! THEY FIT! Well bloody done!

I remember having iced tea years ago (must have been about the same age as you were when that top fit you), and it was gorgeous (just like how you look). I seem to remember it being a bit milky, tho i might be wrong. Would Peach squash work well? Can you add milk if you want, or would the squash make it curdle? x
