Amy_MomOf6's Diary

Overall, I'd like to lose 30 lbs - give or take, depending on where I feel right and like the way I look.

My first goal is to lose 10 lbs by March 1st. It would be awesome to have it all gone by summer.

I will weight train 3 days a week, and diet, including supplements, protein shakes and fiber shakes from Arbonne's Figure 8 plan. I will drink more water, less diet soda (no regular soda).

My husband and 14 yr old daughter are also on weight training routines - so they can help keep me on track there. I, and only I, am responsible for what I put it my mouth.

I think my goal is fairly realistic. March 1st is 7 1/2 weeks away - so I need to lose just a bit more than 1 lb a week - should be attainable since I am just getting started. Weight tends to drop fast in the beginning. 24 weeks, give or take depending on what we call the start of summer - and that makes 30 lbs total attainable by then, but maybe a bit harder to do, since my weightloss always slows down after the first few weeks.

I am starting TOMORROW!! Upper body workout tomorrow morning. :)

Figure 8

1 or 2 protein shakes a day (I will usually use 1), 1 fiber shake a day, healthy meals and snacks. They also have weightloss chews that are supposed to help with cravings. I am also using their supplement 3x a day. The protein shakes have no artificial sugar, 18 g Protein, 1.5 g Fat, 8 g Carbs (4 sugars, 1 dietary fiber) and 110 calories - I mix it with skim milk instead of the recommended water because I don't like the taste of it in water AT ALL! Even in milk, it isn't the best tasting shake out there. :( The fiber shake has 12 g of dietary fiber and 120 calories, is orange flavored and tastes really good (or I think so!). The chews came with my startup package, but I don't know if I will be buying them again. They look like taffy, taste pretty good - I really like the berry and the chocolate reminds me of Tootsie Rolls - they have 30 calories each, are VERY chewy and do help to satisfy the need to chew and seem to curb appetite - I just don't know how much I will "need" them, though.

8:10 - Figure 8 supplement
8:10-8:40 - 28 oz pure water
9:00 - Figure 8 choc shake w/ 8 oz skim milk - 200cal, 21c(1 fiber), 26 P, 1.5 fat

10:15-10:50 - Upper body workout - first day, started light - Felt GREAT

11:30 - 1 c Kashi Go Lean Crunch w/ 1/2 c skim milk - 135cal, 49c(8f), 17P, 3F
12:30 - 2 Figure 8 On the Go weightloss chews - total 60 calories - and 16 oz water
4:30 - early dinner before daughters dance class - cheeseburger patty - no bun, half my plate was broccoli, 10 tater tots (should have skipped the tots - they were not nearly as satisfying as I thought they would be)

5:30-7:30 - 12 oz of water
9:00 PM - 3 very small Tyson buffalo chicken strips, 1 oz cheddar cheese, glass of wine, followed by another 20 oz of water <---- definitely could have made a better choice here!

Overall, the day wasn't awful - certainly better than it has been in recent months. I need to add MORE veggies and fruits, but I am happy with my water intake.

A weekend away

I was away Friday - Monday with my church youth retreat. I ate well at meals, took fruit from the dininghall for my afternoon snacks, but I did treat myself to some ice cream shakes and 1 ice cream soda (with REAL soda! I haven't had real soda in FOREVER!! Would have had the ice cream soda with seltzer, but their soda fountain was broken so they were using bottled soda.) I took a long walk on Sunday, and on Saturday I did a fair bit of walking and running while participating in a scavenger hunt. We also ran relay races, so I got a decent bit of exercise over the weekend.

AF arrived while I was away - which usually means a weight gain or at least a stall in weight loss - and I still managed to lose 2 lbs this week. :D

Now that I am home, I am getting back on track with my diet, and also did my upper body weight workout yesterday.
