I am getting muscle gains, but my gut hasnt trimmed down at all. which suprises me as i used to drink 6beers a night.now at most i have a red wine

any suggestions??

you need to start counting calories.....find your maintenance. If you are under it, then you will lose weight, and if you are over, you will gain weight. I am a bit confused as you said you are making muscular gains, but also want your gut to diminish. This is near impossible to maintain, as you cannot be in a surplus( gains) and a deficit (lose some gut) at the same time.

Choose one or the other.

with plenty of protein and the right foods, i thought i could achieve both. I have used FItday for a while, and i think my maintenance is 3200cals.

Could i stick to arround that level (which isnt a surplus) lift heavy, and the body should achieve muscle growth aswell as burn some excess fat

It is possible but very difficult.

You would be much better of doing cutting and bulking cycles. If you eat correctly you could do something like an 8-10 week bulk and a 2-3 week cut. Much more effective than trying to lose fat and gain muscle at the same time.

yes almost near impossible, other than new lifting gains, but they will slow very soon after and you will be left with nothing hehe. Yes as suggested, just start cycles. Depending on how much fat you gain/priorities hehe you can determine how long you want to gain for.

Cheers guys,

I dont want to bulk in the sense of gaining at any cost. My lifts have been increasing well. So hopefully the weight i gain over the next 2 months is just muscle..therefore if im over 100kgs in that time, it would be fat i have gained

if your lifts are going up, and you are in a surplus, then you are gaining sexy muscle hehe and getting stronger. If you are at maintenance and ur lifts are increasing, then you are just getting stronger.

I prefer the first option hehe dont you?

I don't see how at that weight, with that diet you're gaining too much weight. It doesn't seem like you're eating that much food.
I'm 6'1, 185 and I eat much more than you. But I have a faster metabolism probably, I'm what you call a typical hard-gainer.
If you're gaining too much weight and you don't wanna count calories, eat less, just a bit less, and see how much weight you'll put up like that.Experiment with this, aim for 2 to 3 pounds of weight gain per month. Anything more than that will be fat or water, unless you're juicing.
It would be better to count calories I think, find your maintenance and go 300 to 500 cals over it, for a clean bulk.
