Am i doing right?

Hello everyone, I'm trying to tone up my butt. I'm doing deadlift and lunge. The thing is my legs specially the front, i've noticed that it's getting bigger and bigger but nothing is hapenning on my butt. I dont even feel nothing on my bum when i exercise. Besides, everytime i do my routine it hurts most of the time on my front leg and thats it. Do you think i'm doing this right? I dont want leg that is too big. Please tell me what to do. thanks!
 
I've found it best to "Put your mind in the muscle". This means to think of nothing else but the body part that you're training. Also, when doing squats and lunges, push through the heels on the way up!
 
and to really hit the glutes on squat go all the way down, with the half squat you're mostly hitting the quads
