What is your current height and weight?
5ft 6in, 211lbs

If you were at an ideal weight now, what would that weight be?
143lbs

At what weight would you like to be at four months from now?
30 to 40 lbs less so 170 or 180 lbs

Why do you want to lose weight?
So I can look and feel better. I want the self confidence I once had. I want to be healthy and be active without getting out of breath super easily.

Do you want to lose weight for a specific life event such as wedding or reunion? If so, when is that event? No

What obstacles could get between you and your weight loss goals? My depression. I do a lot of emotional eating. It's my worst enemy.

Why do you think that you now have a weight problem?I think I've overate a lot. I love the taste of food. I eat when I'm emotional or bored. If I'm happy I notice I don't have much of an appetite.

What lifestyle changes do you think would help you lose weight?I think I could lose weight by doing thinkgs that are fun but require activitiy. I also think I should get control of my emotions.

Have you lost weight in the past? If so, what has worked in the past to help you lose weight? I lost 15lbs in one month taking phentermine last year but I quit taking it and I kept the weight off for quite a while until I started binge eating.

Why do you believe that you did not lose weight or you gained the weight back? binge eating. I quite phentermine because it was too expensive and lost my job.

What, if anything, has not worked for you in the past in helping you to lose weight? Diet pills. Why do you think it did not work? I wasn't really dedicated to a lifestyle change and was looking for a quick fix which I now realize is stupid and a waste of energy and time.

Would you try writing down all food and drink consumed for a given period of time?Yes

Do you cook at home often? If so, what do you cook? No my husband does most of the cooking and he makes a lot of meat

How often do you go out to eat? Where do you go? Yes, we eat too much fast food

What are your three favorite foods?I love all kinds of food so it really wont be hard for me to stick with healthy foods. I just need to learn to not overeat even the healthy choices.

What are your three favorite restaurants? Not sure

What are three things you can do differently when it comes to food?I can eat less, eat more veggies and fruits, and drink just water.

If you woke up tomorrow and your body was exactly the way you want it, what would be different? Great question. I would feel better. I would be more confident and overall happier. I could fit into my old clothes again. I would shop. I would go run around and not get out of breath. I would enjoy sitting indian style and I would be able to focus on the other important things in life again instead of focusing solely on my weight. I would feel pretty in front of my husband and have great sex.

Do you eat when you are not hungry?Yes unfortunately

Do you binge eat (large amounts at a time)?Yes on occassion

Do you hide your food or eat in secret?Yes I have before.

Do you eat when you are sad, nervous, or depressed?YES

Do you eat as a reward?Yes and that needs to stop.

Do you eat while watching TV or using the computer?Yes

What do you normally eat for a meal?Today I had pork roast and potato salad and a Dr Pepper for dinner

What type of snacks do you eat?Chips, hot pockets, pizzas, sweets which all needs to stop

In terms of exercise, what, if anything, are you currently doing? Occasional home workout videos and wii fit. Or disc golf.

Where do you go for exercise? A local public gym? School/work gym? Home? Home, outside

What, if anything, are your three favorite types of exercise?I like walking outside, playing disc golf, and I would love riding bikes outside or rollerblading/ice skating

What is your daily/weekly/monthly/yearly motivation to move towards your goals?I think to myself everyday now of how I've become someone I'm not, a loser really, and I motivate myself by thinking of what I want to be and how impressed I will be with myself as well as how other will be impressed with me once I start achieving my overall goals. But I'm still searching for that other motivational thing that will keep me going when I'm off the tracks.

Do you have rewards for certain goals? No but I'm going to come up with one.

Good luck!

Just one more thing, I honestly think it's great that you quit taking phentermine! I'm not an expert on anything like that, but I am a medicine student and the other day we had a lecture about weight loss drugs, and they have so many adverse effects! Here in Portugal, most of them were even withdrawn from the market...

I know most people lose big numbers when they first start their diet. I only lost 1.4 lbs this week. I've been distracted by stress and other issues related to anxiety so it is obvious to me now that I really need to dedicate myself and get down to business =) Next week's number will hopefully be better.

I agree with everyone else! 1.4/week is an excellent achievement!! Losing weight takes a lot of work and time! And a healthy weight loss (one that will stay off a long time) is 2 lbs a week!

Did you take your measurements? You might also see a large loss in inches! I saw it there first! I had lost over 5inches all over when i only had a -3lbs loss! And don't forget, if you're exercising, you'll be gaining muscle weight too! And you want that! The more muscle weight you gain, the more calories you burn during the day! :)

Great work! Keep it up! And be proud of every pound, .5 pound, or .2 pound you lose :)

Hey there :)
Good look with your weight loss.
We're a similar height and similar starting weight too!
When I got back on track I was around 210!!

1.4lbs is a great first loss. I know people sometimes pull HUGE numbers in the first week, but it's usually just water weight, and at the end of the day, if you take it off 1.4lbs at a time, then keep it off, it's better than having a massive loss and thinking, ooh I can treat myself now, and gaining 2/3lbs back after having a celebration.

You may find you get a larger number next week, or just stay steady.
Either way, be proud of every loss, you deserve to! Even if it's only .1lb, you've still worked to lose that and you should feel good about it :)
Every little helps :p
