After 5 months.. dieting/exercise

Yea I see a improvement as well, Keep it up dude!

Read the book, New Rules of weight lifting, that may help with the addition of the experts on this board, they helped me tremndously.

Also on a final note....

GO RUTGERS!!!!!!! WAHOO!!!!! GO RU! welcome to the Big East!

You've come a long way, I can definately see progress in your pictures. Keep up the great work! I think as you gain more muscles mass you will see even more improvement!

Almost 8 months now...

One month later, according to my scale i lost 6 pounds in a month. But, according to my BF analyzer 3lbs of that was fat and 3 lbs was muscle. So, unless i read it wrong or calculated something wrong im losing muscle regardless of how often i hit the gym. I am lifting heavy, but i guess not heavy enough. Its pretty disappointing. Attached are progress pics, with both 1 month ago and yesterdays pics. Be completely honest please.

Looking good man! Why get discouraged now? You've come a LLLOONNGG way! But the journey is long and immensely rewarding...but it needs you to help it along!

Stick with it. Mix things up. If you think the PT is being useless, yeah, ditch him.

HIt the weights, and hit them hard and intensely!

Good luck! I can't believe how much progress you made in such a short time! Losing 60 pounds in 5 months is a total accomplishment.

i have ditched the trainer a while ago, recently i havent lost to much though, only 6lbs in the last month, but i think the majority wasnt fat loss... 10-15 more lbs and i think ill be where i want, but then again who knows.

well I already told you, I see some improvements. Your stomach doesn't seem as full and looks flatter to me in the side view. In the front view, your "love handles" look smaller, they aren't as wide and I see your chin looks more defined.

We never see smaller changes in ourself and it takes others to poing them out. I am never happy with my progress pics either, but people say they see a difference.

Just stick with the new routine we discussed and hit the weights heavy to try and prevent further muscle loss and you will be fine.

Since i probably wont be posting any update pics until the end of LV's transformation contest i thought i would make a composite of pictures from last year (240lbs) to about 2 weeks ago (168lbs). Im not perfect in photoshop, this is best as i could do putting the pics together. Big change i guess, but i really wanna see more changes.

Hey man, I just wanted to say that, as so many others have, I most def see major improvements. A friend of mine once pointed out to me years ago that we don't normally see noticeable change in our physique because we see ourselves all day, every day. Someone who sees you once a week/month though is gonna pick up on any change instantly. So just because you aren't feeling the changes don't look as dramatic, no one here is blowing smoke, it is noticeable. Keep it up man.

As for advice? Well I'm no pro by any stretch but some things I do know. First, building muscle will also raise your metabolism. Second, muscle weighs more than fat. You may not be looking to be ready for the next Mr. Universe but I have always firmly believed that heavy weight training should be a part of every one's regimen, especially males. Slam them plates hard would be my best offering and part of building muscle is plenty of the appropriate nutrients.

As for motivation. I always felt that the times I found my motivation lowest was the most crucial time for me to drag myself to the gym. Once I started missing workouts it just got easier to miss more and lose motivation that much quicker.

Best of luck bro. Keep at it!

threads like these keep me motivated to keep on going...I would have quit a long time ago. thanks and good job op.
