Aerobic exercises conducive to weight training?

Is it a bad idea to do cardio/aerobic exercises on the same day (just at different times) as I do weight training? Or should I alternate days? Which is better for building muscle/losing fat?

Also, is it a better idea to train one part of the body a day when weight lifting? Like on Mondays: Upper body
Tuesdays: Legs
etc.,etc.

OR can I do all parts of the body on one day, then do a day of light lifting, then a day of rigorous lifting, then light, etc., etc.?

Thanks.

If your new to weight training do full body workouts.
Building muscle and loosing fat are 2 different goals. Its very tricky to do both at the same time unless your a real pro, and even if you do, its going to be slow work.

it is far easier to build a bit of muscle for 2 months, then the extra muscle will help you burn fat in your 'cutting phase'.

Cardio is only bad for building muscle because your body breaks down muscle tissue for fuel. But if you train intensily for only 20-25mins, this will not effect you enough to notice.
you can do this on the same day as weigh training, but make sure its a good few hours b4 or after.
