Advice for beginner

Hi

I have to put on as much weight/muscle as possible in five months for an acting role. Am a 5'10 male weghing 68 kg. What would be a realistic target - I am able to train every day for 1-2 hours.

well for starters dont train every day. next, you can put on as much as as you can eat. but muscle wise, dont look to gain more than a couple pounds a month, and that is if your training is legit, and your diet is in check.

oh, and make sure you eat.
 
How much should one aim to eat? For example, if I eat 4000 calories instead of 2500, what are the consequences?
 
well if you determine that your maintenance level is 2500 as an example and you eat 4000, then expect to gain about 3 pounds a week, which is wayyyy too much, as most of that would be fat. Try to aim for a surplus of no more than 500 cals per day. So that at the end of the week you are gaining about a pound.
