Adding weight

Hi everyone, ive been training for about 2 months now (girl, 113 pounds) and im concerned about my progress. My goal is to get some mass with definition as well, especially in the lower body area, but i seem to be stuck with the same weight like forever! For example, i started leg pressing about 90 pounds, and now im doing a 195 (5 sets of 8 reps..) ..But i have been on that weight (well on that range between 180-195) for over 2 weeks now, and im beginning to wonder if im getting really stuck. Same this happens with the leg curl.

I hear for bodybuilding purposes u should use about 75 to 80 % of ur maximum but i think im using like 99% ! , maybe in a desperate attempt to increase the weights!.. Guess id like to get like some guys here that load a million plates coz im feeling such a sissy lifting this lol.

Comments welcomed :p

Try squatting instead. Or change your diet...I don't know, you need testosterone to build muscle, maybe you just need to wake your body up more to start generating it.

Testosterone

Testosterone? i think im not supposed to take that unless i want to start looking as a man. I just wanted to know how often u guys increase ur weight and what u do if u ever get stuck.
Oops about the squat i just started few days ago with the barbell so i still have a long way to go.

If you want to increase your lean muscle mass you will have to eat more lean proteins and healthy carbs/fats. You seem to be working hard at the weights which is a good start, now you need to fuel your body for your goals.

chiquita, everyone has testosterone in thier system but maybe your body just needs to "wake up" and start making more. You don't have to take anything to do this. But I would use newf's advice first and foremost.

i guess i missundertood u LeiYunFat, thought u were talking about taking anabolics and stuff like that: but what do u mean when u say my body needs to "wake up"?
Newf, thanks for the advice, i already started adding a lot of complex carbs in my diet and taking some whey. But i still think for my weight i should be able to lift much more, i guess ill have to wait a lil longer.

For my leg routine i do the following: one day..

Leg press 5x8 reps
Leg curl 3x8
SLD 3x10

the other:

Lunges 10x9x8x8
Leg curl 3x8
Hip abdductor machine 15x12x8

* I started squatting a day ago thats why i dont put it in the program
*I do a 2 day split
*It doesnt count 1 warm up set.

Don't worry about leg curls too much, Squats and SDL should be your main lifts along wth Lunges and stepups are also good execercises. Do some calf work also. Don't do the same rep scheme every workout for example to 8x3 every now and them. 5x5 and 4x6 are also good rep scheme's.

I agree newf, im trying to stick with basic compound movements, thats why i started squatting recently, well right now im just learning proper form coz i dont want to injure my back. But its feel a bit aukward coz i started the press 2 months ago as a "substitute" of the squat and have made a lil progress with the weight .And i dont know wether to start squatting form weight 0 or with a moderate weight.

It's okay if you misunderstood, cause that's what discussion is about. I think a way for increased testosterone levels is to just workout like you have been. Maybe watch some porn. LOL just kiddin.
