ab questions

hey all,

some general questions:

- how do i work my abs so that they are flat and defined and not bulging out like with body builders?

- related to the question above, when i work out my abs i seem to retain a layer of fat on top of them. can i eliminate this through some kind of change in diet/exercise?

- i noticed that i seemed to get more gas (flatulence) once my abs seemed to get bigger; i guessed that my abs were putting more pressure on my digestive system, not giving food enough time to digest properly (like with greyhounds). can this be avoided with diet changes or a change in the method of exercise? has anyone else had this problem?
 
You get flat and defined abs completely through diet and exercise - by lowering your body fat percentage.

Pressure on your digestive system? That's crazy talk. You probably are eating more fiber. Have you changed your diet lately? Maybe a new cereal or something else with a lot of fiber?

so if i want to lower my BFP without increasing ab size, how would i go about it? is swimming good for that?
