A new me :)

Hey guys I am new to this forum but not new to my life style change. I started my journey 2 years ago. I was my heaviest at 239 LBS, now I am at 169 lbs with 16 lbs left to go until I reach my dream goal weight.
I was doing very well up until May 22nd when I was diagnosed with epilepsy. With the diagnosis I lost who I was, my freedom, and my independence, which for me is huge.
I have started back at the gym 2 weeks ago, I already feel so much better, but one thing I have not been able to rid myself of is my 5 coffees a day.
I know in my heart if I gave that up the lbs would be melting away again. How can I stop this addiction ???

This is me before, and me now with 16lbs to go :)

Sorry about the diagnosis.

Amazing differences comparing the two photos. Good luck on the last 16 pounds, you've come this far through hard work. You can go the last mile. Can you trade one addiction for another? A less harmless addiction.. like... compulsive gum chewing or something. Good luck on that as well.

Problem is I do the gum thing too :)

I have just started Taebo into my routine so I am hoping to start seeing a difference with that. Plus the Taebo allows me to get out my frustrations :)

Well done on the weight loss to date.

I too am sorry to hear about the diagnosis - but at least you know what the problem is. Hopefully with medication you will be able to keep things under control. I understand that 70% of people become seizure free with epilepsy once they are under medication. I hope that you fall into that category.

If you cannot stop the coffees - are you able to switch them into a lower calorie version. I dont drink coffee - but I understand that some kinds are a lot higher in calories than a plain black coffee with sweetener.

I like diet cola but I play a game with myself whereby I allow myself to drink diet cola only AFTER I have had my full water allocation for the day. Since drinking 1 fluid ounce of water for every 2 pounds of my weight ends up quite a volume of water - I am naturally limited in the amount of diet cola that I can drink.
