I really am unhappy...every healthy "bmi" website says that due to my age, and height...i should be 115 pounds...whoaaaa there wait...that means that I'm 22 pounds overweight...i almost fainted......i started cutting everything im consuming and running on my treadmill for 30 minutes a day...just started all of this yesterday...my boyfriends an army ranger and is in iraq and comes home in four months...i really really want to lose that 22 pounds...badly...im a big cardio person...not so much for the workout videos and i work too much and am a student so i dont have time to go to the gym like i wish i could...any tips puhleaseee would be great... and dont say he'll love me for me! this is a fitness thread people! ahhhhh and tell me if im being unrealistic to expect this in four months! the moral of my story is im eating good and working out daily...

spend some time reading the stickied threads -there's a ton of tips there for you to help yourself...

Eating good is a great start but it's meaningless unless you've got your calories under control... the stickied threads in nutrition will give you an idea of how many calories a day you should be consuming... and an account at will help you keep track.

Welcome to the site.

At 5ft3 and weight 137 - the BMI is 24.3 which is towards the top of the normal range.

115 gives a BMI of 20.4 which is towards the bottom of the normal range.

That does not mean that you are anywhere like as overweight as your posting implies.

Since you mention that you have been active all your life it is possible that you have a reasonable amount of muscle. It may be not very appropriate for you to have too low a BMI. I think that it may be worth you discussing an ideal BMI for your body type with a doctor or fitness professional. The most important thing is for your body to be healthy - not for it to be associated with a magic number for weight or therefore BMI.
