a Hillbilly diary

LOL! You should see the postage stamp of lawn I have!

I suppose that's the difference between living in TX vs CA ;)

I have 2 acres and a push mower, I'm always cutting the grass. by the time I cut the back and then do the front the back is ready to be cut again. It's a never ending cycle.

LOL Two acres and a push mower? I see weight loss in your very near future my friend...and some very nice calf muscles! :p

it's not a bad setup. we are about 5 miles outside of town in a country type setting. your allowed to have, cattle horses basically anything you want. I think for the two acres and the driveway and septic setup its about 30,000. so its not bad. The population of the town is a little over 5000 people and thats a plus compared to houston.

That is a plus Randy!

Do you have cattle? I hear they can mow down lawn pretty quickly - same with goats!

I have to fence the yard still but I'm thinking goats. They are pretty low maintenance critters. Just keep some water out for them and they stay pretty happy. you can get a nanny and a kid for about 50-60.00.

I really don't mind the constant cutting. It's an excuse to get some exercise in. It's not that bad unless we get alot of rain then the gets out of hand quick. Most of the grass out this way is wild Johnson grass and a few days of rain and its 4 feet tall. then you have to go through the whole mess of getting a brush hog in. It's a fair trade though, I like this much better than the city.

I have kids and they are great for mowing the lawn. Its getting them up and dressed and ready for school on time thats the problem!

Hey I live in Houston. I moved to the edge of town 9 years ago. There were cows in the fields across the street from us. They'd end up in our yard. Two lane curvy road that flooded when it rained. Tons of trees everywhere.

Now the city has grown out to us. Straightened and widened the road to 5 lanes. Nine new traffic lights on a 4 mile strip. The cows are mostly gone. Tons of neighborhoods, stores, restaurants, new schools. Most of the trees plowed down and piddly ones replanted in landscapes. Now we're just like the rest of suburbia. Ugh. Northwest Houston is growing like wildfire.

If only I could move out on 2 acres, though the mowing would get old. At least it's about to slow down. You get to mow less in September, take off maybe Oct-Feb (maybe 1 or 2 mows then). The Hill Country is my fav.

Keep up the good work. Your exercise and eating habits will pay off over time.

patty thats what I like about it out here. It's far enough out of Houston that it will take awhile for it to creep out this way. I'm about thirty miles east of Houston and love it. I'm still close enough to Houston to go mall hopping or whatever so its a fair trade off.

Well it's another beautiful rainy day in the south. Hope everyone is doing well. I have been pretty good today other than I'm going after sushi later and the fish if fine but the white rice and sugared vinegar well not so much. I won't have a total for all that but all I can do is not over do it. The good news in even with my weight staying the same I still had to put a notch in my belt. That poor thing is more notches than belt lol. I never did get more pants and when I notch the belt up it undoes my pants button lol. I'm getting around to new pants but these are comfy lol. Now for my interviews I have to get some dress clothes. Man I just don't do slacks and dress shoes and god forbid a tie. It's business casual so don't have to go all out but the more the better. Told my friends for me to dress like that someone better be getting married or buried lol. I don't do dress up. Well thats enough all, I have to save some babble for later........

OK Randy - I'm going to be the first to say it...
GO buy some pants!!

I don't care if the ones you have are comfortable, if belting them causes them to unbutton, they are too damn loose!

You haven't been losing all this weight to keep wearing the same old, big, baggy clothes!

It's the weekend, your lawn is mowed, you should have time...get in the car, go 30 minutes up the road to the stores and SHOP!

:D

for dress slacks in a business casual environment - dark colored docker style pants (NO PLEATS PLEASE) are what most of the guys I know wear... and shoes- loafers or just suede like tie shoes woudl work.. just no sneakers... you can do business appropriate business casual without looking like you're going to see the tax man :D

Go shopping - have some fun - wearing somethig that fits you well right now is a great ego boost...

im a gonna im a gonna. would this be a bad time to mention my t-shirts touch my knees? well almost...... well shoes im thinking some type of leather loafer style. pants not sure yet ummmm whats a pleat??????

pleats are when the fabric folds over itself, like a kilt which is entirely made up of pleats :)
And another hint - dont get cheap white shirts, if you're gonna get a shirt its worth paying for decent quality and style - nothing is worse than seeing a guy wearing a shirt with fabric so thin its see through! :O
