A couple of questions

Hi Everyone

I have been working out and eating healthy for 3 months now and have lost 20 lbs. I am now weighing in at 147 lbs. standing at 5ft. 5in. tall. I was just wondering what a healthy weight range for me is. I have been working out 5 days a week, and I feel good, but I would like to shed more weight to be my ideal self. I would like to get down to 115-120, and I was wondering if that was healthy or if I should aim higher or lower. Another question I had was that I have plateaued at 147 staying there for a couple of weeks now, having lost 2 or 3 lbs per week prior. Is there anything I can do to beat the plateau or just keep working through doing what I am. I do 50-60 minutes cardio, abs, and arms everyday eating 1000-1200 calories. Also, I am in college, and this week and next is final time so I have no time some nights to work out between studying and projects. Is there anything I am able to do besides keep my diet up that will prevent me from gaining weight over these next 2 weeks? Are there any calorie burning tips I should know about on days I am unable to workout? I am still going to try 3-4 days of working out, but I will be unable to keep up the 5 days I have going right now. Thank you for your help, and sorry for all the questions :p

brocolli?

I read someplace, that eating brocolli helps lose weight, cuzz for some specific gram of brocolli, it provides 80cals, and once u consume it, the body burns 125cals to break it down. Hence u end up spending more cals just to break down the consumed food.
I read it on health.com i think..

hey

that is so great that you're exercising!

i think 147 lbs is a pretty good weight for 5'5, but its different for each person. a woman of 5'5 and 147 lbs may have too much excess fat in certain areas, yet another woman with the same height and weight may have almost no excess fat. i think 115 - 120 definitely sounds too light for someone who is 5'5... but everyones different so you may be able to pull it off healthily, depends on your body shape.. i have to remind you NOT to try and figure out what your ideal weight is by the silly methods that are around. everybody is so very different in their body shape and muscle mass that these methods of calculating your "ideal" weight are not accurate at all. most of the time, methods like BMI, height to weight ratio etc etc always tell you to be below your healthy weight range, but tell you that it's healthy, but it really isnt for a lot of people. i think its good to know your body fat percentage... but even that's not always accurate. it's ALL about your body shape and muscle mass and fat percentage...dont worry about your weight, especially not at the weight youre at... any website or person that tells you that you should be a certain weight should not be listened to, honestly.... there is no ideal weight for a certain height. theres an ideal weight for YOU, within reason, but its moreso about having an ideal fat percentage.... you could become heavier than you are now because of building muscle, and actually be much more healthy and toned....i know its easy to get concerned with your weight, but i think weight is all a bunch of crud really....

you also seem like youre not having enough calories actually....i dont wnat to tell you what to do because its your body and you know it best, but 1500 calories is kind of the absolute lowest you can have without starving according to research and yaddayah... and youre only having 1200... one thing that helped me lose some fat was eating lots of small meals through the day, but still equal to what i'd eat usually in 3 large meals per day. sort of sped up my motabalism and made me hungrier more often, but fuller quicker.

a good way to burn fat is to do strength training / weights for a while before you do aerobic exercise...ur body will use up glycerol while u do the strength training, then for however long you do aerobic exercise after that, your body will start burning fat .....and that will aid in not letting ur muscles deteriorate..... try and concentrate on your exercise rather than your diet, not saying you should eat unhealthy, but you get what i mean. you can gain and lose 1 - 4 or 5 lbs per week and it has nothing to do with ur fat. its just fluid and stuff like that, especially being a woman.... your period and stuff can affect that. dont worry, u wont gain fat in 2 weeks....but you may gain WEIGHT at any time and lose it at any time which can have nothing to do with fat.
