I'm 5'11'', 160 pounds, ~12% body fat. I'm trying to advantage of the seven weeks I have off from rowing this summer to put on some body mass and I have a few questions..
In short, is it a viable plan to try and bulk up over this period while cutting out nearly all cardio and then dieting off the excess fat at the beginning of the season (in order to make lightweight)?
Assuming I'm doing a total body workout, how much weight can I expect to be capable of gaining in the timeframe, and how much of this weight will be muscle?
How much cardio should be included in such a plan designed specifically to get bigger?
Towards the beginning of the fall I'll have to return to 165lbs to be at weight. When I diet the fat off, can I expect to keep most of the muscle I've built?
Also, will I be able to sustain the muscle mass with only periodic lifting (2-3 times per week) in season doing 90+ mins of cardio per day?
thanks a ton
