5 weeks into work out and THIS happens!

Hey all,

So i'm 5 weeks into a work out routine, i'm 1m74 tall for 73 Kg and my goal is to loose some flab so 6 pack shows and gain some more lbs of muscle.

My work out routine looks roughly like this (i'm still tweaking it and optimizing it week after week): weights x3 times a week for 1hour + 30 to 60mns of cardio (on an apt bike) right after. (including HIIT once a week)

I eat clean, try to seep enough, but i don't think i eat enough...and after 5 weeks i think i exhausted my body since i hadn't been working out for a little more than 1 year before that

The result i think is that for the past 3 days i've been feeling very tired and sick, and now i have some kind of cold that kept me in bed all day.

-Could it be that i am exhausting myself/over training?
- when i have a cold/flue i just feel like I come out of it weaker, and that my muscle mass has decreased. Could it be?
 
Its good every now and then to take a few extra days off, make sure your stil getting the right vitamins and not just protien/carbs
 
yeah taking a break is good for muscle repair and energy refinement. it can even be good for increasing your 1RM. btw make sure your still eating right and stretching on your break, good luck.
