*White Bread – its an easy go to food and only damages your diet.
*Dairy – Massively limit dairy and DONT replace with dairy replacements.
*Pasta – Effectively milk, butter and flour…Avoid
*Diet Drinks/Any fizzy drink – If cola can take rust of a coin why would you drink it?
*Alcohol – Wine is a killer for adding fat on the hips! limit to weekends only.
You may disagree…
Hi;
I'm interested in this thread; I hope you don't mind me digging a little deeper. As mentioned in my recent newcomers post I stated I was exploring the option to become vegan.
White bread; sure I can avoid this but is it only white bread or all bread? I'm not a big fan of sandwiches but if I'm out and about it's an easy thing to pick up and fill a hole. The other alternative is a wrap or a box of pasta. All of which are pretty terrible when bought prepackaged from a shop.
Dairy; I'm currently in the process of dropping dairy from my diet especially cheese. I'm a little hesitant about dropping the milk as I like to have it with my wheatabix and fruit for breakfast. I've been trying out no added sugar Soya milk and it's bearable but you mentioned don't substitute with dairy replacements, why?
Pasta; pasta is a little difficult for me. It's easy, cheap and tasty with a home made tomato sauce which for a student like me is a good option. To be fair I don't regularly eat pasta at the moment however I'm interested to your reasoning behind this. I think pasta is a good source of carbs before I go for a long walk on the weekend.
Diet Drinks/Any fizzy drink; i'm not sure what you mean by diet drinks but definitely agree with fizzy drinks. I think sometimes I buy myself something like an Oasis or Ribena and kid myself that it's good because it's a fruit based drink but with the amount of sugar that is piled into them types of drinks I'm probably doing myself a lot of harm. I don't know if I'm sometimes depriving myself of sugar especially when being highly active and exercising - on the odd day I can feel tired and faint (maybe not a fizzy drink or chocolate bar) but a drink like Oasis and Ribena seems like a good quick option, should I change this and reach out for a sugary piece of fruit instead?
Alcohol; so i'm not to bad for drinking alcohol. I do like to go out with friends and have a bit of fun as a social activity which is roughly once a week. Is once a week good or should I be more careful with what I am drinking even on that one day? I kind of think of it as my cheat day where I know I may be consuming a whole tonne of calories that I shouldn't but i'm letting my hair down and having a good time.
Thanks
