I wanted to post this as it's the No1 question I get asked as a mentor/coach or whatever you want to call me.

It's the same question time after time "what shouldn't I eat"

So let's dig a bit deeper

Everything is ok in moderation

Yeah! If you know how to moderate…

…A chocolate bar a day is not moderation!

“I’m eating a healthy diet”

Now what does that mean?

I bet your healthy is NOT a million miles away from my healthy?

Look it’s really easy to get FAT and out of shape - I know I've been there time after time

But TOUGH to lose weight! I completely agree.

But, this is a big but!

If you make wiser choices it is so much EASIER!

So look these foods I’m about to tell you are foods you need to completely AVOID or only have on treat days!

Im not going to give you any science, just what to avoid if you want faster results!

*White Bread – its an easy go to food and only damages your diet.

*Dairy – Massively limit dairy and DONT replace with dairy replacements.

*Pasta – Effectively milk, butter and flour…Avoid

*Diet Drinks/Any fizzy drink – If cola can take rust of a coin why would you drink it?

*Alcohol – Wine is a killer for adding fat on the hips! limit to weekends only.
You may disagree…

These fixes have worked over and over again with clients to get faster results when trying to lose weight.

Just do this…

…For 7 days try this and then tell me how you feel!

What have you got to lose?

Give it a go

Any questions just post :)

Wow, nice post :) surely I am going to test this out and I am pretty sure it will help because it makes sense.
Now I have question by Dairy food do you even mean eggs? They are good aren't they or I might be wrong. And what type is good? boiled?...
and what do you think about "1%" milk?

Hey - eggs for some reason people always get confused. Dairy is Anything that comes from a cows milk. So eggs are a great source of amino acids (proteins)

Boiled, scrambled, poached - whatever you prefer.

I always suggest ZERO milk for weight loss. 1% milk has all the goodness taken from it.

FAT isn't the issue on weight loss it's the excess sugar and crapy processed foods

Yea I got it, thanks. What foods do you personally suggest. because I can see you understand a lot about it. So which food have a lot of good fats and protein that I might now know about. Thanks :)

Fish - full of good fats and protein (fresh not tinned)

Nuts - full of good fats and protein (not peanut - it's not a nut)

Lean protein - chicken, turkey, beans, egg whites

Good fats - avocado, olive oil (not for cooking), nut oils, flax seed

That help?

Paul, thanks alot. 2 weeks have passed and I lost 2.5kilos, I lost most of the weight from friday, when I read this post and I changed my diet, thanks to you I make a lot of progress. Thank you

Hey Paul, I agree with you that practising moderation is the way to go. Or else my cravings creep in and I start craving the foods that are not "allowed" and it backfires.

Can you explain a bit more, why you're recommending to cut out all the dairy? What effect does it have on losing weight, even though you consume it in moderation?

Moderation? Most people don't undersand that.

Over the years I have suggested cutting dairy due to a few things:

1. A lot of health issues disappear (eczema, rashes, IBS) now the health agencies suggest against, but I have first hand seen time over time again cutting dairy improves this. My son had horrendous eczema, remove dairy disappeared. I have horrendoys hat fever, cut out dairy - no hay fever.

2. Weight loss - once you cut out yoghurt, milk, cheese, cream (milk chocolate), ice cream etc etc your FOOD CHOICES change and you start to,eat cleaner which aids weight loss. See where I'm going.

There is a much calcium in greens as there is in milk - so that's not an excuse.

I see your point. I could easily give up milk, cheese, cream, ice cream but yogurt is a tough one for me, I really love it :)
Thanks for the new perspective though, I'll think on that.

Cheers!

I find your post very informative, but I will respectfully disagree with milk products. We all need milk to fulfill our calcium needs, but not too much. 1-1.5 cups of low fat milk is totally okay to drink daily even if you are on a weight loss journey. I did that and I sure was successful. This is just my opinion, than you for your contribution!

Thanks for the informative post!
A paper with this TOP 5 forbidden foods must be placed on the fridge's door in every kitchen ;)

Hi Paul,
It's really eye-opening information in your post.I am trying to lose weight. But unfortunately first three weeks I lost 5
pounds but suddenly its stop for a month.I have one question to ask you that you told in your post we should avoid
Dairy stuff when we are on diet.
my whole day diet:
morning
1.1-piece brown bread with 1-tsp peanut butter
tea with skim milk with one canderel stevia tablet
lunch:
2. 1 bowl of salad ( cucumber/tomatoes/ lettuce/carrot/1/2 cup of boiled chicken )
dressing: 1 tsp olive oil/ 2tblsp chickpeas mashed with lemon

3.1cup of boiled broccoli/ salad / 1/2 boiled chicken breast or 1/2 fish files
4.tea with skim milk with one canderel stevia tab
5. 1/2 grapefruit/1 muller light greek yoghurt flavoured with fruit
I am on diet for five days. Saturday and Sunday in two days normally
one meal I eat out.but others 1 and 1/2 day I cook at home eat little bit relaxed

here I am using skim milk and 1 muller light greek yoghurt (120g)
do you think i should replace this portion something else ?

could you pls check my diet where it goes wrong that after three
weeks I am really not loosing any weight.it would be highly appreciated
if you could give me your kind comment about my diet.
thanks in advance
kind regards
Prishaan

Wow, that's nice food awareness post. I recommend everyone have to read this once...

I like your post and think your right, especially alcohol and fizzy pops, people do not realize all the sugars in them. Have you seen that demonstration when a guy boils Coke and Coke Zero. Hardly any sugar in coke zero but the coke leaves a horrible residue of sugar.

Also I agree with the processed food is bad for you as well! Home cooked food is so much more better for us.

These 5 foods can kill you weight loss program.

Diet Soda

Though it has fewer calories and far less sugar than regular soda, diet soda may actually keep you from losing weight. A study last year found that people who drank two or more diet sodas a day had waist size increases six times (yes, you read that right) greater than people who didn’t drink the diet stuff. Experts don’t know exactly why, but suspect that the sweet taste may prime your body to crave more sweets and may wind up overeating on other unhealthy food later on.

Smoothies

Although they can be packed with healthy vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients, smoothies can also carry loads of calories, fat, and sugar. Make sure your smoothie is filled with whole fruits and vegetables and low fat milk or milk alternatives. Skip those laden with peanut butter, chocolate, or fruit syrups. If you’re substituting a smoothie for a meal, stick to 350 to 400 calories; if you’re having one as a snack, it should be 200 calories or fewer.

Frozen “Healthy” Dinners

These foods are high in sodium and sugar, as well as other chemicals you don’t need. They do teach you about portion control, but many dieters find themselves starving and bingeing on snacks later. A smarter option: Stick to a realistic portion of a real food, like whole-wheat pasta (about 2 ounces) or a grilled chicken breast (about 3 ounces), then pile your plate with a mountain of veggies, which will bulk up your stomach and prevent post-meal hunger pangs.

Flavoured Yogurt

Yogurt is filled with calcium and protein that’s great satiating hunger, but flavoured yogurt can also carry loads of extra sugar and calories that sabotage your healthy eating and prime your palate to crave sweet flavors. Try plain yogurt and adding in a small teaspoon of honey for sweetness.

Baked Chips

Although these are a good alternative to saturated fat-laden regular chips, baked chips usually have tons of sodium, sugar, and empty calories-and lack filling fibre. If you’re in the mood for something crunchy, try dipping fresh, raw veggies into a healthy dip, like hummus, or plain rice cakes with two teaspoons of peanut butter.

10 Things That Will Kill Your Weight Loss Goals

Frightening Foods That Are Fried

Fried foods offer you nothing in nutritional value and offer you much in hindering your weight loss goals.

Scary Steakhouse Restaurants

If you love your local steakhouse restaurant, you may want to stay out of it if you want to lose weight. The fried onions that many steakhouses offer as an appetizer will add nothing but fat to your life, so stay away from your local restaurant if you cannot say no to the bad foods.

Misleading Labels

With all of the "healthy" food choices that are being touted by manufacturers, you would think that it would be easy to eat right, but not necessarily. Often, these "healthy" foods have a great deal of sugar and fat that you will want to stay away from. By reading the labels, you can determine if it is a good and healthy choice for you.

Bigger and Bigger Burgers

Burgers get bigger each and every year. Some even have as many as four patties on a bun, which is more calories than you should eat the entire day. If you are craving a burger, you will want a plain burger, rather than the big burger. This can save you some calories.

Appetizers Are Awful for Weight Loss

Cheese dip may sound good, but it will not be nutritionally good for you and may damage your weight loss efforts.

Calorie Laden Treats

When you pick up your coffee, you may be tempted to have a piece of the crumb cake to go with it, but this can mean an additional 670 calories. These treats are fine for every once in a while, but regularly, you should stay away from them.

The Deceit of Diet Drinks

Drinks that have high-calorie content can be very deceitful. They do not fill your stomach, but they can have as many as 600 calories. Even diet drinks can be high in calories, so you will want to be sure that you watch this when you are choosing a drink. Water may be your best choice.

High-Calorie Snacks

The mall is full of wonderful smells, but these smells can lead you to eat a day worth of calories in just one sitting. It is best to stick with healthy snacks, like raw veggies, as much as possible to keep your weight under control.

Dining Out Disaster

Dining out is something that you will only want to do every once in a while. Restaurant menus are full of things that are oozing with fat and high in calories, so you will want to be sure that you eat carefully and stay on your diet.

Super Sized Diet Sabotages

Every food that you can think of has become bigger. From bigger bagels to larger servings and more, you can find meals around 1000 calories at most restaurants. Most of the time, you do not need that much food, so eat carefully when you are eating out to help cut calories as much as possible.
