4 Day Split...Without the split

Is it ok to do a four day split but without the day in between?

Basically its hard for me to get to the gym for weight training on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
This is what i had planned to do, with Day 1 and 3 being the same, and Day 2 and 4 being the same

Day 1 = Mon
Day 2 = Tues
Day 3 = Thurs
Day 4 = Fri

Sat and Sun off from weights.

As i can not get to the gym on a fri for long, and not atall on a saturday and sunday can i do the same but without having the weds off.

Day 1 = Mon
Day 2 = Tues
Day 3 = Weds
Day 4 = Thurs

Fri, Sat, Sun will be rest days in terms of weight lifting.
This is with cardio being performed Mon-Fri with weekends off from cardio.

Basically what i am wondering is will this give me enough time resting for my muscles to actually benefit. How important is that day in the middle of the split? By doing it the way i am suggesting i am changing the rest period of each muscle from 2 days to 1 day, and also adding a longer rest over the weekend with no weights for 3 days in a row.

Any help appreciated. Its very hard to get to the gym on a Friday for weights though, cardio i can get there for, but do not have time for a full weight lifting workout, i just manage to fit in a 20 min HIIT session on the Friday.

NB: I do not do FIVE HIIT sessions a week, just two of the five cardio days are HIIT.

list the routine you'd be doing. its possible 4 days in a row is fine, or horrible....entirely depending on HOW and WHAT you're training, and at what volume/intensity.
