So I figured I'd make a before/inbetween post.

well, I'm 16 years old and Ive pretty much been overweight as far back as I can remember. Ive dieted a few times and gotten smaller, but always to put the weight back on. well my boyfriend invited me in the middle of May to go to Virginia Beach the last week in June. I decided right then that I wanted to feel more comfortable in my own skin and that I wanted to lose the weight for the beach, and basically permanently.

running is my thing, and I run usually 6-7 days/week, anywhere from 1 mile-3 miles running, with 1-2 extra walking miles. i use exercise vids as well as using 10lb weights for some toning. anyways, heres my pics :)

At my heaviest:158 lbs (5'3") these are embarrassing

So I still have 10lbs I want to lose, but I'm decently happy with my progress so far. I feel like ive changed so much recently, losing the weight AND the braces, and gaining so much confidence:) plus regaining my love for running

Congrats on the work you are doing, you have come a long way and look geat. Just remember it will forever be a lifestyle change :)

Wow, you look great!! That's awesome that you were able to lose 20 lbs in 3 months...

Can I ask what your diet usually consists of?

Congrats again on the weight loss. Very inspiring.

Well usually for breakfast I'll have a granola bar and some fruit, or cereal (special K or hb of oats), for lunch either a lean cuisine, sandwich, or soup. and for dinner usually grilled chicken with salad or steamed veggies.

I've basically just started eating whole wheat bread and drinking nothing but water. I eat anywhere from 1200-1500 calories per day. when going out I order a salad or something healthy(Applebees has a grilled chicken sandwich on whole wheat buns with fruit as a side..300 cals total and SO GOOD). I've had my slip ups, but when I do I just make sure to do more exercising that day or the next.

Great work!
I also ride english! Do you compete at all?

Used to, not so much anymore. I did jumpers and eventing with my thoroughbred. I really did love it, but shows around here were $200 per show for my classes, trailering, and any coaching. I just couldn't afford it anymore, and kind of lost the heart for it. I still ride though :)

wow, I wish my shows were that 'cheap'!!! I pay probably a good 800-1000 per show and that doesn't include trailering!!
But I certainly understand not being able to afford it. Horse showing is insanely expensive! For me, I need to compete, it's a big reason why I ride. I just wouldn't enjoy it as much if I couldn't compete.
Glad you are still riding!
