14 and Fat =[ Not For Long =]

Hey, Well I am 14 years old, and starting High school in about 8 days. Nervous? Hell ya. This is my story, and my Journey in loosing weight and becoming a healthy weight. Everyone wants to lose weight to feel better, look better, and KNOW that they are healthy, which is what, me, a 14 year old is doing to make my dream a reality

Ok. Well, I started gaining all my weight in grade 3, before that I was fairly skinny, but that was the past, but now I am not skinny, but am not overly overweight, but I don’t want to get there either.

My family, well let's say, they don’t even know what overweight means. My brother, only a year younger than me, is 95 pounds, 5'5, very athletic, and is starting to get a 6-pack/ [ Go him ]. My mom was 90 pounds WHILE pregnant with me. She has always been skinny, but she does tell me that she was way too skinny, and that my weight is fine !, but she also says that I have a perfect body, but my stomach is the only little problem. My daddy is built up. Being 40 years old, you can still see his 6-pack, but he is getting a little belly fat, tehehe. But still, my family has always been skinny. Then there’s me. I have a belly. yuck !. I am 5'6 and I weight 140 pounds.

You see, I’m babbling, This I see is going to be a VERY long diary, lol, this is my life story eh. Well, let me try to cut it short. I adore sports, and I am good at sports, I've always been the Tom Girl, the girl that’s good in sports during my elementary school, then in gr.7 and 8, I lost that name, but got the She’s the volleyball girl name , lol. But I love sports, and being overweight, I can’t run as fast, so it’s very frustrating. I am not overweight according to the BMI, but I think if I gain 10 pounds or so, I will be overweight.

I don’t do the stuff I want because I’m afraid of what people will think. Like oh she's so fat. ew. But I know people probably don’t think that, but it can’t help but cross my mind. So this summer, I saw an ad for Slim in Six. I begged my mom, and she finally bought it. Now I am eagerly waiting for it to come. It takes 3-4 weeks so that sucks, but still. I am going to exercise every morning before school, and I think I would like to run, if I didn’t look so ... doing it or me thinking, I wonder how slow I am, how ugly I look doing it. Silly me eh ? I care what people think too much. I think losing just 10 pounds will do me good. I CANNOT WAIT. THIS IS MY DREAM. to feel comfortable with myself, and it’s going to come true, count on it. I am determined!!. After I do Slim In Six, I am going to start running, going to the gym, playing MORE sports than I did before. Become the Athletic Self that I know I am. I think that Slim in Six is my push to start exercising and doing what’s right for myself.

Well I will keep you all posted after my package arrives , I will do the workouts, ooo, another thing, I eat less than my brother, but I eat right, fruits, vegetables, chocolate maybe once a month. I eat very healthy, drink lots of water. doesn’t help at all . lol, anyways, Slim in Six, when you arrive I will lose weight

I’m a 14 year old girl, 5'6 and 140 pounds, I want to be 110 pounds. I think that maybe TOO skinny, so let's see how much I do lose. Cannot wait to be the girl that I have always dreamt to. Like my mommy says, you’re beautiful, you have a nice body. And I’m saying, yes I do mommy, but if I lose the belly fat, and thigh, and some arm, wont I be that much healthier and happier .

This is kind of like my life story, keep on going, tehe, well I’m done now, any other 14 year olds out there.

Your weight is fine! Your BMI is in the normal range, not even the overweight range. If you don't like your body, maybe you should try toning it and building muscle instead of losing fat. :)
 
but why shouldnt i lose weight. I do have a lot of belly fat. and thigh, and arm, lol. I know that I am not the fattest person or whatever, but i kind of want to lose the belly fat. lol, im very confused. I read somewhere, that if you build muscle itll be under the fat, so it looks like you gained more weight. Is that true ?
 
Developing healthy eating habits and an exercise program at your age is a good thing. A result of that might end up in weight loss, but really focus on eating habits rather than trying to lose weight.

At your age, your body is still growing and developing and you need proper nutrition. Do talk to your mom about getting the whole family involved in healthy eating...

and have a blast in high school
 
Thank you, and dont worry, my mom cares a lot about eating right. Our house is filled with Fruits and Veggies, and you never find junk food at my house =]
 
Just letting you know i have the EXACT same goal. Im 14, weigh 140 lbs, and am 5'6. I really want to be 110lbs. Most of the people at my school havent even hit 100 lbs yet! Most everyone in my family is skinny aswell. So i feel awkward everywhere i go. And my weight is also keeping me from the things i want to do. I think by me loosing weight i will boost my self confidence. I always feel like noone else in the world understands what im going through. Its nice to know im not alone. [=
 
Goodluck on your weightloss travels, however i do think 110 may be a little low of a weight. However not knowing your body frame and type, it may be ok for you. Be sure you keep toning as you go because you may find you are happy when you hit 120 , with a nicely toned body.

Eat healthily and often and take part in as many activities as you can :)
 
Hello and welcome! I'm 17 and I know what it's like to be heavy...I'm 5'5 and I used to weigh 225! I'm now a senior in high school.

I do have to agree with fayefaye though... maybe you should work on the 10lbs goal first. But then again, maybe your family is a very small body type. Your mom certainly sounds like she's got a small body frame. My advice would be to just start exercising and not eating crap. Toning too would be very useful if you want the beginnings of a six pack. :D
