115lb loss from 364 to 249.

I'm new here and thought I would share my success. I reached my peak weight at the age of 18 where I clocked in at 364lbs, yes, I was that obese at that young of an age. It wasn't that I wasn't active I played football, did track, and landscaped for money my eating habits must just have been that bad. Once I entered my first year of college I realized it was time to change, I would arrive in class covered in sweat and continue to sweat throughout, I had trouble fitting into desks and my belly would hang over the desk allowing me less room to complete my work. I decided it was time for change and I lost 115lbs via Connecticut Weight and Wellness (no surgery for me) and have successfuly kept it off for ~18months! I am now 249lbs at 6'3. I've posted some pics, hopefully they work. Heres a VIDEO of me before my weight loss guess which ones me haha. If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask, I may post more threads when I get the time, about how I keep the weight off and the difficulties of loosing that much weight while in college, forget the freshmen 15 ;-) Sorry, I didn't feel comfortable taking a picture of myself standing up shirtless (excess skin.) Insurance company won't pick up cosmetic surgery and like I said in college so I can't afford it, so it really is kind of bitter sweet. I mean I feel fantastic physically since the weightl oss but the extra skin makes it feel like its still there mentally, so like I said it really is bittersweet in the end, but I don't plan on getting that large EVER AGAIN obviously :)

First off... I gotta say that video was quite entertaining to say the least. :D
As happy as you looked dancing around, I can only imagine how happy you are now.

Excellent work!

Nice Video ^_~
do you think that since you have time on your some
of the excess skin will gradually go away?!

Nope, I don't think its going anywhere anytime soon. I activly lift weight 5x a week and mix in cardio 3x a week for about a year now religously, and have noticed little to no improvement, although my muscles have gotton bigger and harder...thats always fun. My original goal was 225lbs, but Im comfotable at 250lbs. The doctor said thre wasn't much more fat I could loose so I'm cool where I am. Also I was doing an 800calorie a day diet which really made me feel like crap. Now I eat what I want (in moderation) and my weights been staying steady. I think I owe a lot of it to lifting wieghts though because muscle burns a lot of calories from what I've been told and like I said I've been staying steady.

moments like that were the darkest for me. thank you for sharing that. I remeber when I had to fly with my boss for work and the seatbelt didn't fit, there were two people beside me and I spent the entire flight pretending to have it on. or being afraid to go out because the chair night have arms.

You look amazing. Congrats on all your weight loss!

I agree, I had to go to the disability dept. and ask there be a seperate chair and desk in each of my classes and then if somebody sat in it I had to ask them to move. It was SO embarrassing. I took the semester off so hopefully next semester I'll be able to sit in regular seating. Oh and on planes...I tried so quietly to ask for the seat belt extender but that was embarrassing too. Especially on one flight when I had to ask several times :X. Finally I was so tired that I didn't care anymore about being embarrassed. On the flight home when there were extra seats open I just said "hey I'm obviously not a small person, can I move over there by myself". Will be nice when I visit my parents again if I can be skinny :)

Anyway you look great and that's some amazing success. Thanks so much for posting cuz it sure encourages those of us still on the journey. Makes it seem more real that we can get there too! ~Lisa

its a dark moment when you have to openly admit to not being a "normal size"
I am so glad to hear you also went thru that.

Mind you, having a closet full of clothes that don't fit was also one of my worst moments. crying on the floor. :nopity:

thanks for sharing!

I really like the way you changed, you look awesome. Video is hilarious.

As for the extra skin, true, although SOME of it must have shrank on it's own, plus your muscle increase it seems pretty clear you will sooner or later have to get the cosmetic surgery; but hey, who cares if the folks in the insurance won't pay? There is a billion ways to make money :).
