hey everyone, so to get myself back on track after what i know will be a difficult thanksgiving weekend i am going on this diet, the "sacred heart diet". check it out:

i think it would be really great if a whole group of us could do this together, starting monday, november 28th, right after the holiday weekend ends. you do the diet one week at a time, and we can do it as long as the group wants. and members can come and go as they please. this would fit in with whatever other challenges and cometitions we're doing too.
i know someone who just did this diet and he loved it and lost weight. supposedly you lose 10-17 pounds in the first week! wouldn't that be nice ;) . it seems very healthy and balanced, even tho the food conbinations are a bit odd. so whaddya say? who's with me? :D

sounds like a pretty neat diet. problem is i'm not sure about the lipton soup mix and the beef broth and maybe even the stewed tomatoes, if they contain MSG which i'm thinking they do then that diet isnt for me. :(

sounds too good to be true, lol...tell ya what, you do it and if you loose 10 pds in a week, let me know, i'll do it then!

My parents actually did this diet last year for a week, my mom lost 8lbs in a week, and my dad lost 11lbs, they then started WW after that and between them have lost 60 lbs and kept it off!

Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

Cheers
Michelle:)

wonderwoman - i'm not using the lipton soup either, and i'm using chicken broth instead of beef and fresh tomatos instead of canned. i think the point of the soup is just a trick to get you to eat lots of veggies and those particulars don't matter a whole lot. so if that was the only thing stopping you from doing the diet, don't worry about it.

newbride - definitley, i will keep you posted! :D

honeychild - that's awesome about your parents! my uncle just did this diet and lost 10-11 pounds the first week. i'd be happy to lose five! have you tried it yourself?

well, i got back from my trip a day earlier than i'd expected, so i'm actually gonna start tomorrow (sunday 11/27) instead of monday. but anyone who wants to join me can start anytime! bye for now :D !

heidipye - No I haven't tried this diet but i'm seriously considering it, I only have about 14 lbs to lose so this would be a great kickstarter. I was talking about it with my mom and she said I should try it, so I might start it tomorrow, i'll have to get up early and make the soup.

Again, let me know how it goes for you, as I will if I go through with it.

take care
Michelle

hey honeychild, i hope you decide to try it! i have about the same amount to lose as you, and i'm hoping to lose most of it by christmas with this diet.

i'm starting today. i feel really good so far. i made the soup, and it's yummy. i used cabbage instead of green peppers, and regular onion instead of green onions. i only used half the amount of stuff in the recipe, b/c i didn't have a pot big enough to hold it all. that recipe makes a LOT of soup! other than soup i've had some watermelon today. i'm going for a walk for exercise later and then i'll have more soup and watermelon for dinner. i'll post more later to tell you how it goes! bye for now :D !

Sounds interesting for sure. I really want to know how you do on it, iLet us know because a part of me really wants to try this!!!!

This diet looks like one I tried before called the "cabbage soup diet" The weight did come off rather quickly but once I started eating normal meals again it came back.

hey everyone,

so it went pretty well the first couple days, but then due to some social events i couldn't keep it up... party at work, going out with friends... you know :( . so yeah, i'm starting over this friday, the 2nd... anyone wants to join me that'd be cool  . i'm starting friday so that the fruit and veggie only days are on the weekend. the lack of protein gets to me and it will be easier for me if i don't have to go to work those days. i'm planning to have an easy weekend, do some xmas shopping (online, of course), and get some reading done.

i want to use this diet to help me transition into the type of eating habits i want to establish for the long term, ie mostly fruits and veggies, a couple servings of protein per day, and relatively few carbs, just oatmeal and kashi (hi-protein) cereal. little to no sugar.

so i will post my progress starting friday. wish me luck! :D

Might give this a try. I'm not too fond of tomatoes, but if it's only for a week I'd just have to suck it up. I thinks it's more of a texture thing for me, as I love pasta sauce and ketchup. I'll have to look it over some more. Also means I probabley have to go grocery shopping again. Might have to wait till next payday/grocery shopping day.

If I do it, I'll post my results/experience.

I did this diet again a few weeks ago and lost 13lbs and have kept it off, and lost more. It is not that bad, but i would not recomend it for a long trem thing.......but to jumpstart your weight loss or break a platue(me) it works great!!!
good luck!

I read your post to quickly and thought you said the soap was hard to choke down---I crack myself up sometimes.

I've got all my ingredients to start this Saturday, so I will start posting my progress on Monday. Let's hope this busts my plateau.

I tried this in the fall it was great. I lost about 6lbs, but didn't exercise though. I was thinking about doing it again, since I hit a plateau. Good luck to everyone.
