10 Pound Club

M2M 1 pound a week is terrific lol but your right exercising will help make it 2. How are you going with your exercise so far?

Hi rosered :)

I'm just a little bummed...I've been losing 1 pound a week without a huge change in my diet or excercise level. Last Friday I weighed 238 - this week I started really making a more conserted effort to make healthier food choices and I started walking in the evening. I walked 1 mile every evening, yesterday I put in 2.2 miles and today a whopping 3.9 miles.

How much weight did I lose this week you might ask...

1 pound.

I'm down to my first mini goal of 20 lbs lost, but I'm disappointed in that I really thought I would lose more weight this week.

I start camping on Sunday, and I generally don't lose (but don't gain) while I camp - so we'll see how it goes.

I was really hoping to drop at least 2-3 pounds this week and was really surprised to see that I hadn't.

Anyway...it's one meal at a time in my case ;)

How are you doing?

Aww hun don’t be bummed about it I bet it will show next week. I think you will get the shock of your life. Keep it up M2M your on the right path. 20 pounds is nothing to sneeze at remember, just think if you keep loosing even one pound a week for a year that’s 52 pounds (wholly crap). Camping wow it’s been so long since we have gone camping. Take some photos for us so we can see were you went you lucky thing. So far this week I haven’t done well at all, I started this challenge out with (TOM) but im back on track today so all will be good. Keep up the great work hun.

hey there everyone... how are ya doing?!

i'm horrible about getting to everyone's diaries, so hopefully you all check in here for a *kick* in the pants from me =) GET TO IT! =) lol

doing good so far myself... i have been trying to keep my metabolism up by having snacks - but i've been so busy (and i sleep in later) so they have been hard to come by.

Monday I start a new schedule (and i get to ride the bus to work  ) so we'll see how it goes!

Thanks rosered, but ::insert whining voice:: 1 pound a week is taking a LONNNNG time! Granted, I only gained 4.5 lbs a year in the 16 years I've been with my husband, but I don't want to take that long taking it OFF!!

It's also frustrating because no one in my house has noticed a difference. I haven't told them I've been losing weight, and they apparently can't see it ;) My MIL noticed a few days ago - that was cool - but you guys are IT when it comes to my support team!

Well, we go camping quite a bit - last year I spent 1/10 of my year sleeping in my tent ;) This year, I've spent a week in Anza Borrego, CA (desert) a week in Sedona, AZ and now I'll be at the beach in Southern CA. This one is close to home and not a beach I really love (we normally camp in Santa Barbara at least 2-3 times a year and I LOVE that beach) so I'm not all that excited to be going. There will be 50 of us on the group site, so I'm going for that!

I don't know what/who TOM is, but I'm glad to hear you're back on track today :D It really is all about one day at a time! You're going to do GREAT!

TOM = Time Of Month :D

Still doing good today, im off to work in about 20 min so I will try and get in 30min of exercise tonight when I get home; catch up with you guys then.

progress

I've been doing well i think
been averaging 1350 calories which is ALOT less than i used to have 2 weeks ago
also i walk about 1 hour per day which is better than before
I'm trying to get an exercize routine going over the next few days and stick to it
not sure what to start with

A good trick to get walking (ive found out) is to walk to the supermarket
When i go there i only buy what i will eat for the next 1-2 days so i have to go abbout 3 times a week. In the "before time" i used to stack up for 1-2 weeks and used to go to the local supermarket.

It's good if your supermarket is 1-2 miles away :p

anyways hang in there everyone we are going to make it to 10 pounds!
cya

great job grandiose!!!

I used to walk to my grocery store all the time... but now that i'm buying for two, i do it less often... he always wants soda and beer - and it's hard to cary that far =)

I should start again however... it would be a nice change of pace for the summer.

I'm doing fabulous so far - TOM is gone, and all my water weight came back off... ( M2M - usually your weight will rise during this time due to bloatiness and other fun things like that!)

So far I've lost 2.5 lbs!!! I got my exercise in the past two days and stuck to my calories... I really want to go play tennis today, so i'm holding off on my run - but we'll see if i can convince my hunny to get out there!

I'm 40 years old - you'd THINK I would know this by now ;) Seriously, I've always been able to go up and down a good 5 pounds without really thinking about it, so I've never paid any attention to when those fluctuations occur.

BTW, I'm thinking I'm going to start weighing myself on Saturday mornings.
I liked the scale better today ;)

Lol M2M We learn something new everyday hun that’s what life’s all about. It sounds like you are doing terrific so far this challenge. Go the Saturdays.

Grandiose all that walking is wonderful, looking good girl.

Amomono I would be making him go get his own beer lol. Then again it could be good weight’s exercise.

I jumped on the scales this morning for a bit of a sneak peek to see what damage I have done so far this week but it’s not looking bad at all.

I was doing great until last night when dad brought me in a bag of pakora! Thankfully the damage was limited to 1lb, I'll weight myself on Wednesday again but I'm hoping to average 2-2.5lb a week. I'm doing some form of exercise for at least an hour for 6 days a week inc gym, swimming, biking and walking.

Had an awful day saturday but have got back into the swing of things, went for a run this morning and hope to go every day. Will weigh myself on Monday. Good Luck everybody!!

Hi Everyone,
It sounds like weekends can be really tough! I had my highly caloric breakfast yesterday (I used to have it every day, and now it's only a couple of times a week) ;) but made healthier choices during the day and ended with mandrain oranges and yogurt for dinner. (Followed by two beers at an out door movie, but, um, well, I'll walk it off somewhere!)

I'm leaving to go camping and I'll be back late Friday, my weigh in is on Saturday morning, so I'll post my weekly update then.

Keep going you guys, we can shake these 10 pounds!!
(In my case jiggle, but I won't think about it!)
;)

Drink WATER!!

Must have been one of those days yesterday M2M I had a couple of beers myself. It’s my day off today so I will exercise today.

Crunchie what is pakora?

Sorry you had such a bad day Saturday Favouritecrayon, I hope the rest of the week gets better hun.

wow! i had two beers and pizza last night! lol - i'm glad everyone was at least on the same page... now that it's out of our system, we can rock it all off together!!!! I did a bit better today (shouldn't have had the krispy kreme for mid-morning snack, but oh well - lunch was really good)

keep with it everyone!!!!!

It's an Indian side dish or starter, basically they take a filling and deep fry it in some kind of batter. :( You get chicken, mushroom, cauliflower and vegetable but they're ll very fatty (but oh so tasty).

Anyway my first weight in is on Wednesday and I'll certainly be getting some good exercise this week. Me and my friend are hoping to climb a mountain on Wednesday though he might wind up carrying me up it.

Ben Ledi here we come!

Just wanted to paste here what I recorded in my journal today as it was quite an insight...I won't weigh myself yet hopefully I'll lose something!

Well worked out I eat far too much bread....especially in the weekend (had 7 slices yesterday)eeeeeek that is not usual but it is common for me to have 3 or 4 slices of bread on a saturday and sunday...even if what is inside is good the bread isnt, so even though on those days my calories are still low my carbs and fat are high.....not good!!!!

The other revelation is this....I HATE JOGGING!!!!!!

BUT I really like cross country running.

I went to take the dog for a walk today and then got really excited because I decided to go through our local bush walk track....when I got there I decided I may as well jog it, the track itself is only 1 and a half miles but man did it feel good. running through mud and puddles, running on gravel and up and down little hills through the bush, and only being able to see a couple of metres in front of you at a time...I just loved it, it only took 15 minutes of my 50 minute walk but boy it was fun!

That is when I realised that I always used to love this type of running, give me a paddock or an off road situation, some puddles or mud to run through and I love it!!! I was always really good at it too.

I am going to try and find a running group to join in with...but until then I might just do this run once a week when I have time.....unfortunately i don't have any time in the mornings or evenings to do this run as it takes my 15 minutes to get to the track itself and I have 30 minutes max in the morning plus it is dark...

Anyway quite the revelation....

I am going to cut right back on bread completely and see how it goes!

Managed to fit in 30 minutes of skipping tonight too.

i love going for longer runs outside like that too =) we have an amazing park near my house that I used to run at when I lived only a few blocks from there... now its a bit farther so i just stick to the neighborhood... I get so bored running on a treadmill or on a track - being able to pick a path and just go is so much more fun!!!

I'm going to try to get a run in this evening... but first work! like i said - i'm anxious/excited/nervous... b/c we are doing chaplain work, which is like counseling, part of the summer will be intense group therapy and individual therapy... for our selves! and depending on what the group is like it could be fantastic or kind of awkward... keep me in your prayers!!!

if its any help i cheated the weekend and luckily maintained lol

I kinda cheated today
had a footlong italian bmt from subway
around 1000 calories probably
but that is the only thing i ate today
the good thing tho is that i also played about 1 hour of football
which always involves alot of running
