Advice for a footballer (soccer), need help

So i had been out a couple of months, been unlucky these past 3 years with injuries, operations etc. Now i'm fully recovered. My best attributes were my speed strength finishing and passing. I know in my head that finishing and passing have to come with practice, but i have come slow according to some people. Does anyone know what can i do at home, like today i started the lunges and squats together with abs training + weights for my upper body. Does anyone here can tell me what to do more to improve my speed and strengthen my legs? thanks in advance

Lunges and squats are the perfect way to train the core and gluteus medius which will stabilise the body as best as possible. For the most part try keep to roughly 60-70% max weight and accentuate the speed on the push portion of the exercise. Finish off the workout with plyometrics (jumps) Try keep the abs to knee raises, gorilla crunches, full contact twists (instead of floor based abs) Have you tried sprint specific training Mamu? ie, 'pawing' movements and drills?

Definitively try to do more sprint workouts and as for legs, squats are a godsend to you. Concentrate around the squats predominantly and do some stiff leg deadlifts just to strengthen your hamstrings and glutes.
