Weighted pull ups, wide grip, is it ok to increase weight forever?

I'm 72kg and I'm doing weighted wide grip pull ups with 14kg weight on my belt. But I started to get joint pain after completing 5x5 of these.

So my question is, are weighted pull ups good forever or should I just stop after the extra weight is hurting my joints from the deadhang position?

Would this pass in time or should I just switch to lower weight and more reps/sets?

Joint pain = bad news. Back off and see if your body recovers.
 
Any pain during exercise is bad. You should give your body a rest for awhile so that it can recover.

You should increase the reps for each set rather than use a weight belt. or you could do pushups instead.
