Hey everyone!
I've been long distance skateboarding (longboarding really) for a good while and I've done some 180 mile trips and 2 marathons. I'm serious about this and now want to train specifically for a marathon in 6 months time.
What's the best advice for me? I'm currently skating as much as I can and doing a 10-15 mile skate each week. I'm then having Protein shakes after the skates to help build muscle, and I'm also having a small protein shake each morning (less than half a scoop, and the shop recommended I have 2 full scoop shakes per day).
My record marathon time is 1hour 58minutes, and of course I want to beat it.
The race I’m training for is the Goodwood roller marathon:
I’m ok in my head for training. But what do I do 4 weeks before the race? Stop training as much, don't do anything strenuous, but what about eating? less protein and slightly more Carbs????
Pointers would be great! Much the same as running a marathon, I expect!?!? Or, maybe not just running a marathon and surviving, but more along the lines of racing a marathon?
I guess my query falls under nutrition, supplements, training and preperation?
