lose the pounds at home

I recently gave up going to gym. However without any fitness instructor, I'm at a loss. I still want to get in shape. But I also want it to be not so expensive. Can I workout at home and still have results?
 
Of course. You just need to be consistent and dedicated.

Why did you give up on the gym? Too far away? Too expensive? Uncomfortable to be there?

I only ask because I find the gym really motivates me. I go there and see very fit people and think "that's my goal" or I see very out of shape people and think "that's not what I want to become".

plus they have the equipment that I lack. but equipment isn't everything. All you really need is a set of dumbbells or one of those adjustable types like power blocks...an adjustable bench, and any method to do some cardio. Whether its running or cycling inside/outside, or doing aerobics videos in your living room. Even the Wii Fit can get your heartrate up.

But if you're not being dedicated to getting exercise, and eating properly, neither a home gym or a public gym will get you to the results you seek.

It really has to become part of your lifestyle. An unhealthy lifestyle is how we all get out of shape/overweight. Short term programs don't work...you have to change the 'big picture'.

Of course, a big yes! Even at home, you can exercise without going to gym. You don't need to spend lots of money going to the gym. But then make sure that you always exercise daily and eat not too much foods that are higher in calories....:newangel:
 
Another yes from me....had a bench with barbell plus dumbbells but with my family growing and space being an issue I'm down to just 1 dumbell now (30lbs) using 5x5 routine.

It can be difficult sometimes to motivate yourself training alone though, but if you want those results bad enough....now train!!!

Of course, instead of going to the gym and pay too much to the instructor, the best alternative for that is exercise at home. It doesn't mean that when you’re at home doing exercise you cannot get the shape that you wanted. Maybe you can buy fitness video and try to do what that video wanted you to do. Exercise regularly and eat healthy foods. You can also save your money because at home you don't need to pay to your gym instructor and you can also exercise anytime you want.
