Do you guys drink coffee?

Yeah, It just dawned on me that pretty much most adults drink coffee (except for me), although it doesn't say anything much whether it helps them lose fat.

Nevertheless, I was thinking of taking a cup of black coffee before doing a HIIT session early in the morning. Would drinking a cup o' coffee help me lose fat in general and would it have any side effects? Would love to hear your comments about this.

Yes, I drink coffee, especially when diet is low in carbohydrates at certain points in my goal position (for its duretic effects).

The stumulating effects of the caffiene in black coffee is a minor player, when compared to the composition arrangement of your fat loss goal (composition arrangement being: Calories, macros, and exercise).

Caffiene can increase one's heart rate (slightly, and more on others dependent on sensetivity to caffiene), and it has some minor duretic effects on some persons (basically can make one piss a lot, dependent on consumption). The stimulating effects of caffiene are negligible (IMO), when used alone.

What I would be more concerned with, If I were in your position, and wanting to lose fat tissue is learning about the big three: The personal calories you need according to your personal particulars, setting up an idea on your macros in grams, and developing an exercise program. If you wish drink coffee (this is fine), its not going to make or break your fat loss, but the big three will. Just be mindful of what you put in it, such as creamer and sugar.

best wishes,

Chillen

Yes, the stimulating effect of caffeine can help increase the intensity of your workout, just as you would be negatively impacted if you had alcohol beforehand. If you have not been drinking coffee on a regular basis, you will especially notice the effect. You can actually buy caffeine pills for this purpose.

2 cups every morning pretty much....course my cups are 12 oz. lol :D

I personally wouldn't *add* it just for the boost in exercise. I enjoy my coffee (black) and it isn't something I factor in when I am working out (i.e. something for more energy)

If I need more energy I get more sleep :)

4-5 cups?? You pretty sound like my mother. She's a coffee addict. Caffeine pills...isnt that considered a drug?

Yes, caffeine is definitely a drug, and some people become addicted to it, like your mother :), in coffee or other forms. Your point though?

Yeah I drink coffee. It's great for you (without the sugar and crap :) ). Tons of antioxidants. It's not really that much of a diuretic though, but the caffeine can definitely help your workout.

I drink a can of sugar-free red bull sometimes, but not every day. It has about 80mgs of caffeine in a can, which is a mild amount to get that boost but not too much to get the jitters. The other reason why I drink that instead of coffee is for the Vitamin B that it has in it too.

Still, like coffee, I don't think drinking it on a regular basis is a good thing. In my opinion, one cup of coffee or more each day is NOT good pratice in moderation, and I think consumption of any caffeine product in moderation is the only way to reap benefits of it without the possibility of experiencing any short-term or long-term negative or adverse effects.

Coffee is one of the most sprayed crops in the world as well so I try to drink organic coffee as much as possible.

Yo Jason I wouldnt be worried about the vit-b but I would be about the ammount of artificial sweetener in sugar free energy drinks.
I wouldn't worry about either.

There are tons of benefits to drinking coffee, not only from the caffeine, but from the antioxidants (none of which you get from red bull). And if you can drink it without becoming addicted, there are no adverse effects. Even in mild cases, often the worst of it is headaches from caffeine withdrawal, which can be easily controlled.

The Vitamin B is one of the reasons why I drink it, probably more so than for the caffeine. Yeah, I'm know about those artificial sweetners, and that's why I drink a can of sugar-free red bull only about once a week, if that. Plus, ever drink the regular red bull? Talk about a major crash!

Drink it every day. The only issues I've run into is that it gets in the way of a morning shake, but I make it work.

Yep i drink it every day, one mug in the morning, sometimes a second one in the arvo.
