Exercise Advice

Hello All,

I'm trying to lose 10 pounds that I gained over the summer, mostly from eating fatty food. It's accumulated in my midsection and thighs. I'd like to lose the extra weight and get back in shape with an exercise routine. I watch my diet and it's almost free of any junk or unhealthy food. Could you recommend some do-at-home exercises that I could do in 30 mins (everyday if necessary)?

Thanks a lot!

I would reccomend some form of cardio to lose the unwanted weight. Go for a light jog, or go out on the bike or if you have a dog give it a run in the park or something like that - anything that gets your pulse up

A "Diet" doesn't accomplish anything because it's an artificial way of eating that almost nobody can stick to. So they either don't stay on it long enough or just gain the weight back.

this is a good point that i always like to highlight.

people don't 'go on diets to get fat', so you can't go on a diet to slim down.

the whole concept of 'going on a diet' is flawed, because the definition of diet is 'what you eat'.

so no one ever 'goes on' a diet...we all simply 'change our diet'...and changing it for the short term really doesn't work for most people.

(disclaimer: advanced trainees, pro athletes, and especially pro bodybuilders DO 'go on short term diets' that are designed to rapidly shed body fat, or build up muscle glycogen, in preparation for competitions. But they understand what they are doing, and that its not a sustainable change, but simply a short term thing to meet a very specific goal)

lifestyle changes and eating habits, over many months, caused the weight gain. so lifestyle changes and eating habits over many months need to happen to lose the weight.

@ Malkore: Truer words could not be spoken.

Seeing as you only have 10 pounds to lose, you should be able to get away with just doing cardio, jogging/running, seeing as your diet is kept in check and you don't over eat the fatty foods as you recently did.
