Help-I work full time so no time for excercise

Hi All,

I work full time and usually get home late. My work is basically on a computer so I hardly move around. Sometimes I do not eat and by the time I get home in the night I am might hungry. Sometimes I jog Saturdays (when I am not too tired).

Any tips on how to keep fit and loose some stomach fat under the circumstances?

Thanks you all!

commuting to work by bike is always a good idea

Im sure the vast majority of people on this forum work full time. If ya work late, try gettin up a little earlier and get a quick workout in. Sometimes ya just gotta sacrafice and make time or gettin in shape will never happen.

Lunch time is my time for working out. If I know I'm not going to make it at lunch, I've got morning and after work to adjust.

Working out will help you sleep and give you energy.

take a few strolls down the halls back and forth, go outside and power walk on one of your breaks. bring a snack to your desk and eat during the day. there are alot of busy people in the world you just have to improvise alittle when you don't have the time. like 83 said workout before or after work there has to be an hour you have free

Make time to work out. Walk/bike when you can. Bring food to eat during the day so you're not starving later. If your activity is still always low because you are confined to a desk job, you really just need to eat less to lose weight.

Basically it is something you have to make time to do. Time management. Pretty much everyone here works, and they make it a priority to workout. That is how they manage to get it done.

I use to have to get up really early to get to the gym before school, and after school, I'd go to work (full time)

If there's a will, there's a way. Get organized and find it :)

I felt the same way when starting out and honestly I am still working to make the time. My workouts are very inconsistant from day to day and time to time. I have found though that it really doesn't take as long as you think. Just adjust your schedule so you can have the time.

Good luck and keep us posted on your progress

Just schedule it and don't let anything interfere with your schedule. Treat it like it's a meeting with your boss. If he set one up an hour before you normally had to be at work, you'd still go, right? It's a meeting with yourself that can't be moved and can't be missed.

As somebody above said, you will have more energy and sleep better. I know on the days I actually get up and jog, people at work think I am on speed because I have so much more energy...it is almost scary

thats so treu about energy he just asked me why i was tried i said because i have to work at 7 am he said i go to the gym before i come and look at me lol. he is the lodest person and most energetic at the job. which mean he gets up around 4:30 5 to hit the gym before work me i just go after

Anybody can make time to work-out. A collegue of mine is a single mother with four small kids and a full time job. She works out four times a week and also maintains a social life. I work-out before work, at 6 am.

Pretty sure we all work full time. I worked out at 6 am today and will again tomorrow.

bingo. I work 40 hours (at least) per week and am doing repairs on the house we just moved into.

I still make time for the gym, lately at 6am for cardio just so I don't miss it.

You can make excuses, or you can just work out. Only one leaves you feeling guilty.

Like every1 has said, you have to make time and a bit of sacrifice.

Give yourself 30mins just 3 times a week doing cardio/weights and eat little and often.

you'll be surprised in just a few weeks especially in how you feel.

I missed out training for the past week and feel as guilty as sin, so I'm off to work up a lot of sweat!

Also, try to get up and walk around at work every chance you get. I saw a study recently that being sedentary at work all day was harmful even to folks who exercised regularly outside of work.

I agree with those who suggest trying to carve out the time. Do you watch TV? Post on health forums on the Internet? (Heh heh.)

For someone who works 16 hours a day and really doesn't have the time, I suggest getting a pedometer, and trying to hit 10,000 steps or more per day, using strategies such as taking the stairs, parking in the far spot...whatever. If you are getting 10,000 steps per day, you are likely to be maintaining at least minimal fitness.
