Advice Please

Hi, I have been working out for 16 weeks now but I don't seem to see any results. I am trying to get my abs tone but I don't know what to do to get the results I am looking for.

My routine looks like this:
Gym 5 times a week (1 hr each time)
30 min cardio
20 min arms
10 min abs

Any advice would be great:luxlove:

It's probably your diet not your workout.

What are you eating on a typical day? List everything.
 
I am pretty busy with school so my diet is not all that great.

i typically eat pb&j sandwich for breakfast and lunch and then for dinner i eat 1 cup brown rice with any dish i can find in the fridge. i drink water and try to stay away from soda.
 
Your workout is pretty horrible tbh.

If you can afford to go to the gym 5x a week then you should really be doing something different.

I'd suggest doing a full body workout 3x a week

and then cardio 2x a week.

In your fullbody workout you want to hit you legs, back, chest, shoulders and arms.
So something like

Squats
Rows
Bench Press
Shoulder Press
Curls

do three sets of each exercise around 8 reps with heavy weights.


for cardio, it'd be better that you do HITT, and not steady state cardio, what I mean by this is you go hard for a short period of time and then you rest for a period of time until you are ready to go hard again and then repeat.

That's what I thought. Try to clean your diet up first since no matter how hard you work out at the gym.. if your diet is not right your not going to see results.

Try to eat 5-6 small meals a day consisting of a protein, carb and good fat at each meal. Take prepared snacks with you. I hope that's natural peanut butter you're eating.

You really don't have too far to go you are already slim. Cut the junk out of your diet - eat clean and you'll see results a lot faster.
