Best breakfast?

Hello,

I am not a breakfast person, (I know there are a lot of people that are just like me), so I basically want something that is small but is good for breakfast, and preferably something easy to prepare (as it is in the morning and I am not a morning person)

Also, what time should I be eating this breakfast? Does it matter?

Thank you very much!

Jason

I have 2 coffees, then I eat a bowl of All Bran Flakes with 1% milk and i add a handfull of unsalted trail mix. Then i drink a whey protein shake mixed with frozen berries. Sometimes i have an orange with it.

not sure how great my breakfast is, but i have a banana with a tablespoon of natural peanut butter and a coffee. i too am not into breakfast especially real early in the morning. the banana and peanut butter is easy, goes down well, tastes good, and there is no cooking involved.

A banana and peanut butter doesnt sustain you for very long. You need complex carbs, fiber and more protein imo. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and should be one of the biggest.

I had a hard time eating in the morning at first too. But afte ra while i got used to it and now i get hungry almost immediately after waking.

yeah i dont know how good my breakfast is, but it is simple.
I eat an Activa yogurt for the fiber, and eat 2 packs of oatmeal to last me awhile. For drink, i usually have a glass of some kind of fruit juice. If i eat around 7 in the morning, i am usually hungary around 10 so its good to have a snack. If you dont feel hungary in the morning, try drinking a glass of cold water when you wake up, it will start your metabolism.

that breakfast needs more protein, and i'd skip the juice in favorite of real fruit (though it looks like a carb overload breakfast, which may or may not be conducive to your goals.)

Depending on what your goals are, there are lots of options available.

Quick and simple-usually a whole grain bagel spread with reduced-fat cream cheese, sprinkled with garlic and chives and half a grapefruit or some flavored non-fat yogurt. I flavor my own, if you compare nutritional panels on the already flavored and do it your self, you'll see why.

If I'm cooking-Old Fashioned Oatmeal, the kind you have to cook, it has all the goodies left in, and only takes a couple of minutes more. While it's cooking I whip up some cinnamon nutmeg apples to go on top. If I'm not up for that, it's some scrambled eggs with peppers and onions and a little of diced turkey kielbasa on a whole wheat wrap.

Any of the above are under 400 calories and a couple under 300, and loaded with most if not all, of the nutrients needed to carry you through until snack time.

Ok, here's a good breakfast:

6 egg whites and two yolks, scrambled/omlette
1 bowl of Old Fashioned or Steel Cut oats

protein, and complex carbs, with fiber.

adjust number of egg whites and size of oatmeal bowl to meet your specific nutrition needs.

New to the Forum. So a big Hi to you all.

My breakfast everyday for the past year is 1 pack of Oatmeal and sometimes with half a Banana in it. Before this past year I think I have eaten breakfast maybe 10 times a year and usually it was bagels, and other garbage such as that. When I get to work a few hours later I usually have a piece of fruit to tie me over to Lunch. Works wonders.

After awhile you will get into a routine and you will be hungry for breakfast.

If your goal is weight loss I have read that you need to eat something within 90 minutes of opening your eyes. It gets your metabolism going. When I was losing a lot of weight I found that this was true. (very simple: no breakfast-no weight loss that day) So I think it doesn't matter what you eat just when. Eat something you really enjoy. (Just skip the junk food.)

My quick-and-easy breakfast is often two hard boiled eggs and a glass of orange juice. Quick and easy especially since the eggs can be hard boiled whenever you have the free time and refrigerated for easy grabbing on your way out on the morning. I eat it when I wake up at 7:30 and it carries me over until my mid-morning snack of yogurt mixed with cereal three hours later.

I have oatmeal with a cut up banana in it with a glass of water or milk..

is that good for breakfast?

sometimes I eat a bowl of raisin bran.. feedback please!! :D

I have a fruit smoothie for breakfast, I just toss fruit (usually frozen strawberries, blueberries and banana) in the blender with some water and ground flax seed and blend away. It's very filling and keeps me full until lunch.

Maybe it would be better for people to add things like raisons to your breakfast cereal this way it will help people to get there 5 fruit/veg a day :)
