Nausia and Exhaustion

I ALWAYS get nauseous and lightheaded before my muscles get fatigued. I feel I can't get a complete workout in before I get sick. I drink water (but not too much) and take breaks to catch my breath but it still happens weather I'm lifting or just doing body weight exercises. I'm 21, 140lbs and work out regularly. Is it a medical issue? What can I do to increase my endurance?

Thanks for the help

Sounds like you just need to keep going to raise your endurance. If you are a beginner it is normal to feel completely winded, nauseous and fatigued before your muscles are drained because you might have very low stamina. If you have been exercising for a while now, and it isn't getting better, than it may be an issue you should discuss with your doctor.

I remember this feeling when I first started. I realized I wasn't breathing enough. Are you inhaling and exhaling properly?

For example on a bench press, inhale as you lower the bar and exhale as you push it upwards.

Lack of sufficient oxygen can make a huge difference in your workouts. Also, if you haven't been training to muscular failure then its something your body needs to get used to, just give it a few more workouts and you should be ok.

Let me know how it goes!

Cheers.

Once you get past this feeling to where you can go and work out everyday, to where you decide how hard you push yourself, your gonna try your hardest to feel that way again. Trust me

Its like crack, you push your self so hard one day you puke. Then the next day you dont push that hard and you feel bad almost disappointed because you didnt puke lol It sounds weird but ask any true lifter and they will agree

Perhaps you have a meal before working out? I went to the gym after a heavy snack and felt sluggish.
